View Full Version : 007 is back!
This may be old, but it news to me! They found a new Bond and his movie is going to released on Nov 17. I think it doesn't look half bad:

Hate to tell you, but it's kinda old. You never heard about the search for the new Bond (Daniel Craig) and the Bond Girl (Eva Green)?
However, I'm glad the trailer looks as good as it does. Maybe it'll shut up the people who are bashing Daniel Craig for a while. Also, thank goodness it finally has a release date. I can live with November.

Hey, it looks old-school! :2thumbsup:
Honestly, I have never liked any of the post-Connery Bond movies, but this looks like it could bring back the old tough-guy image that was lost with Roger Moore, not to mention Dalton and *shudder* Brosnan. Maybe we will also see a sharp drop in all of the stupid techno-crap that became so pervasive in the Brosnan films.

Is this the one where they presented the guy who'd do it on a boat, but he wore a life jacket?

It's actually a cycle. Whenever they get too technological-oriented (such as You Only Live Twice andMoonraker), they follow it up with grittier, more real-life movies that bring out Bond's wits more (like On Her Majesty's Secret Service and For Your Eyes Only). This next movie is another one of those "back to the raw Bond" films.

Well, I'm a bit worried about all the explosions in the trailer. Nowadays to get tension they are letting the main characters dodge fully automatic fire from machineguns that don't need to be reloaded... I liked it how in the old Bond movies, their movie making skills could create that same tension by only showing one or two revolvers during the entire movie! I hope they'll remove all bullet dodging and make Bond a sneaky guy again, rather than a walking tank. Also I don't understand why they're so eager to make Bond so feministically correct, Bond is a killer for christ sake so bothering about feminism messages is to misdirect the moral attention a bit... I think the old M and the classy old buildings they had in the first movies were a lot cooler than the high-tech buildings they have in in the new movies, and the new M (who is a good actress, but she can't be M unless M made a very drastical surgery!).
Edit: Anyway the new one looks better than the last one, after which I nearly decided to give up hope about the Bond movies and never watch any of the new ones...

Like they said on Goldeneye, this M is a 'new' M. Dalton was the only real Bond 'tank', running round killing everyone.
Watching trailer when I have time.

Looks promising, might watch this one.
The new Aston Martin is a stunner.

Ok, I must have missed that part...

Brosnan was a tank too, remember from Tomorrow never dies:
"I'll take the machineroom, you'll take the upper floor", then Bond shoots five or more machinegun armed enemies on one of the floors and the girl shoots five on the other floor :dizzy2:
Looks promising, might watch this one.

Yeah, well, if even Goldfinger can manage to kill a few people, so should Bond.

Goldfinger didn't kill many and I think those he killed he killed by dressing up in a false uniform and shot them when they turned their backs to him, so no rambo action there either... I think all the Connery Bond movies were great, and the Moore movies were quite good (because the exaggerated stuff was made with humor), but after that it has degraded into just unrealistic massive slaughter with stone-faced actors. Not my taste, but obviously there seem to be others who like that, maybe even like it better than the Connery and Moore Bond movies...

I think the film makers need to remember Bond isn't special forces, he is an assassin...
Its a point I feel quite strongly about. ~;)

Ahh, I remember the good ol' days when I'd go next door to play 007 on N64...
Those were the days...:sweatdrop:

Heck yea, Goldeneye on 64 was the greatest game ever.
Ah! The days of Goldeneye on N64. I saved and saved, bought the game and a month later my mom took it away because it was too violent!:furious3:
As for the movies, I haven't seen a bond film in the theatre since Tomorrow Never Dies. Since when does 007 drive BMWs! I agree there is too much of a Rambo factor in the newer films. Connery had wit as his weapon, he got into tight situations all the time and used his wit to get out of them not a super gizmo. Not to mention his charm with the ladies and their outrageous names that would get me warning pips on these forums if I were to mention them.
