View Full Version : Forum elimination games
Hi, I'm rather concerned about the recent appearance of 'elimination games' on the .org
Basically they seem to serve very little purpose except to increase participants post count, meantime they clog up the forums.
The rometotalrealism.org forums recently banned them & I'd like to suggest that the .org consider following suit.

If you mean the MTW Forum game f.e. I don't see a problem, in the Main hall there's just 2 threads on this, not dozens. As for increasing the postcount, as there is no consequence on a higher postcount (higher rank/more options f.e.) I don't see a problem with that either as long as it does no damage the forum/topics.
A quick search found these & there could well be more:

RTR.org put theirs all in a sub forum to be finished off.

Out of the four links you posted, only the third game is still in operation.
While I know of one other game you did not mention (in the Colosseum) that is still ongoing, that gives us a grand total of two current forum games out of the three main game forums, not counting all the mod ones. Hardly worth a subforum.
I believe that this trend has run its course, so doing anything would be pointless.

It's not really clogging up the Collosseum, since new threads rarely appear there, so it just serves to keep that certain forum have a bit of activity.
Woops... I believe I'm the one who started that trend...
Um... My original point for doing that was to see what the most popular factions were.
Hope you guys aren't mad or anything, but it doesn't seem like a problem to me. :book:
