I'm going to start a campaign as the Turks and I belive I have seen some information that desert units get a penalty when used in 'foreign service', in forest/lush terrain. If this is the case is there a overview of the penalties somewhere, and which units are considered desert units? I know camels get +1 att in desert and -1 att in lush/temperate but does this affect other units as well; desert archers, saharan cavalry, kwarazmian cavalry, turcoman foot...?

AFAIK only camels recieve penalties when fighting on lush terrain.

No.
But the camels keep their attack bonus against cav.

Camels are still worth their money tenfold though (once at V2 an up)
