The reason that I ask this is that I am playing Bi as ERE. I have fought the majority of my battles during sieges. Either Storming the walls or Sallying forth. I tend to use the same Generals as they have the best trained troops. However I don't seem to be gaining any command stars. Is it me or is it that you don't get Stars during Sieges.
I apologize if this has been discussed before.

I'm pretty sure you can gain command-improving traits. Gate-keeper/gate-breaker?

It's hard to gain command stars in BI during any battle. Although it's harder to gain heroic victories when assaulting a city, so the odds are somewhat smaller, but it shouldn't be impossible. I had an expert sieger in my Macedonian campaign.
In BI, there's only one character, with the Saxons, that gained 5 stars in my campaign. All I ever got besides that were one stars, nothing more, not even when a general fought for fifty flippin years, smiting army after army.

Heh. Pretty much all of my commanding generals have command stars. They are Saxons as well.

Try to fight when the odds are against you instead of for you.. this increases the chances of gaining command stars. Failing that, just annihilate a few Roman armies that have eagles.
I don´t think generals gain stars by starving out a city, in RTW they do not (I don´t know about BI, though), siege assaults (and defenses) are another matter, in that generals definitely can gain stars and virtues (good attacker or defender).

Look at the traits file to see the what battleodds and outcome give the good command trait. BI is alot harder than RTW to get stars.
In RTW vanilla, battleodds less than 2.1 advantage and clear victory is 1 star gained.

In my Vandal campaign (BI 1.6, VH/VH), I have a general with 14 stars (Though, only 10 show, I think 10 is a max).
I gained a command star while sallying out against a beseiger a couple of days ago. It doesn't happen often, though. I'm currently playing a campaign in vanilla RTW patched to 1.5, and I don't think I've seen a "heroic victory" yet. I've only gained 2-3 command stars from battle at all this entire game. Almost all of mine have come from retinue members, the initial stats on a new character, or conditional virtues like Good Attacker.
