President George W Bush has revealed to a German newspaper his best moment since he took office in 2001.

"I would say the best moment of all was when I caught a 7.5lb (3.4kg) perch in my lake," he told Bild am Sonntag.

The worst moment was the 11 September 2001 hijacked plane attacks on New York and Washington that killed about 3,000.

President Bush said he had had "experienced many great moments" in his five years in power and it was "hard to name the best".

But he plumped for the perch, although he did not specify what type it was.

With any other leader, you'd've thought he was joking. Or maybe he's being realistic!

Note: the record catch for a Perch is 4 1/2 or 4 3/4 lbs. Maybe he meant a Bass? Or, maybe it's just another of his slight exaggerations ..... like WMDs. A 7 1/2 lb. perch would put him in the record books and secure his place in history. :laugh4:

Don't worry. His place in history was set a long time ago.

Such an easy question, and he still buggers up the answer... :wall:

Well he would have liked to say that his best moment was when he caught Osama B , but he didn't did he .And the two that they did catch they won't put on trial , so thats a waste isn't it in terms of justice .
As for his worse moment , that must be when they crazy islamist nutters made him lose his place in "my pet goat",

Well, now we know. :laugh4: His proudest moment as a president. I'm betting he was kidding, but the fact that he might not be is hysterical.

I think I've finally found common ground with President Bush. I agree that his best moment as president probably came when he was doing something completely unrelated to being president.

He must be very proud of his presidential record since he chose catching an imaginary fish in a stocked cement pond as his greatest moment.

Somehow, the comment reminds me of his answer during the 2000 presidential debates when he chose "Jesus Christ" as his favorite philosopher. When he can't think of an actual answer he throws out something that he thinks will sound good to the plebes.

To be fair - the answer is actually in line with what you would expect to read in "Bild am Sonntag" :juggle2:

I'd love the PM translation for those terms -- my Irish kin are too many generations over here for the language to have lasted with us (sadly).

As to the Bush Administration, I know I am more supportive of their efforts than you, but I suspect that neither of us would evaluate the efforts in the war on terror as "optimal."

If he said this, I think even less of him.

I'd think he'd have said "Her, her, my favorite moment was when I tricked the nation into voting for a dumb***!...Twice! Her, her, her"

I don't get it. :(
That's his last 30 seconds of office (inauguration day).

My favorite moment was him telling us to conserve gasoline. You could actually see the pain of those words coming out. He looked like he knew the oil execs were going to give him an atomic wedgie when he got back to his office.
