Well...you'd need the following:

-An internet connection, the faster the better.
-Your CD key
-An opponent ~;)

Happy hunting

And BI because BI rocks :P (lol joke, personally I just prefer BI, CBA to go into reasons, not the time nor place :))

But anyway, you'll also need the latest patch. Rome's latest patch is 1.5 and you can get it from http://www.totalwar.com

Have fun :) And don't be put off if you get beaten the first few times, keep persevering :)

Is it possible that I can't login because I don't have the 1.5 patch?

I got 1.6 I believe... I can't login. Cd key is correct and my firewalls are correctly configured as well.

Well 1.6 logs in fine, and if you have your firewall and router properly set up it should just work. You might have been unlucky when you tried at a time when GS was having problems.

Shouldn't be Drisos.

Do you have MSN or X-fire Drisos?

Could help you over that but there shouldn't be any problem..

Have you tried disabalign your firewall all together?

If so you may have to forward your ports to BI..
I know some one who could help with that but try the firewall first.

windows firewall is off.. my firewall is set to allow all contact with the internet from BI.

I'm having the same in stw.. :( Since I got my new computer.. so all the stuff with my router is still the same. shouldn't be it. It must be something new on my comp.. I suspect it is a combination of windows XP with my router settings or other software.. :(

Lately I had the idea to disable my automatically established connection I get when I start up.. need to know how to do that first..

Have you checked your router is still set up correctly and is forwarding the ports to your computer's IP address? (to check the IP, press Start -> Run then type cmd to open the command prompt and enter ipconfig). Your computer might just be using a different IP address, so the forwarding wouldn't work unless you corrected it.
