View Full Version : Confess your sins
Come on folks - confess that when you are bored with nothing to do - what stupid Television show do you watch.
Not the simple and stupid shows - but pure Trash Television.
Since I work a swing shift - I find myself watching with utter disgust at myself - The Jerry Springer Show.
I have to confess that I like to watch the gillmore girls when it's on, I am secretly in love with the mother. I hardly watch any tv but it is broadcasted at dinnertime.

Any low budget US sci-fi/fantasy thing filmed in New Zealand. C4 always seems to have them on on Sunday afternoon. You know, Xena/Hercules/Stargate/ whatever, there must be guys in NZ making a great living out of dressing up as peasants for US TV crews all day.
Oh, and Smallville, though if they reshot it as Lanaville and left out all the Superman stuff that would suit me just fine ~;)
Long ago, I once watched Top Gun, with a kind of guilty pleasure, and then my PhD supervisor came home with his partner and found me watching it (I was housesitting for him during his hols). I felt like I had been doing something naughty. :sweatdrop:
But then again, at that time, I was seriously addicted to the Australian soap "Prisoner Cellblock Nine" - a high camp soap opera set in a women's prison. It was shown at something like 2am as well and I never missed an episode.
Nowadays, I don't know - I would defend everything I watch now with the same fanaticism I used to feel towards Prisoner Cellblock Nine (even bought the book of the show... :embarassed:)
I guess Desperate Housewives would be the thing I watched recently that could bring the most scorn in the Org. But the first series really was remarkably clever and well written. Honest... And that Bree Vanderkamp... When's the game coming out again? :laugh4:

I watched Jane Fonda's Barbarella when I was a kid. I was by myself. I noticed that there were reruns, so I would wait for a floating girl to appear on HBO.
I enjoyed Baywatch too. :sweatdrop:

I used to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I thought it was the best thing ever, but really went downhill after the third season. I watched Gilmour Girls, but it got really crappy and boring when the girl went to college. You see, i don't just watch bad TV shows, I have opinions about them !
..and I watch Temptation Island.

I think this is more for the Frontroom...Anyway I don't want to ruin your party Red:
Anything that exists in the afternoon on the "Universal Channel" mostly crappy movies and other low budget productions with no plot at all (except porn :sweatdrop: ).

Stargate is shot in Canada, Vancover to be exact. And yes people there make a fine living being in US TV shows.

By far my greatest sin is watching NASCAR, which I despise, but do out of a 20-year habit (do you suppose they have a skin patch?). It's always on tape, though.
Other than that, I never watch TV broadcasts, just DVDs.
Will St. Peter approve?

COPS. Not really a stupid show, but it is sort of a guilty pleasure to be entertained by the suspects' misfortune. It sure is entertaining though.

It's great but you kind of know the ending. The guy without his shirt did it.

Being currently without any TV channels whatsoever...none.
But when I did have access to cable, I would watch The Simpsons every night.
And is it just me, or did COPS turn into a show about a bunch of domestic disputes?

Be fair, NZ, Vancover, both rainy parts of the former British empire.

Hmm, I only really turn the tv on when I'm cooking (in my flat, the tv is in the kitchen). I generally don't eat in there though, so don't actually watch anything specifically - I'll stick around if Top Gear's on though... I honestly do prefer the news to be on though in lieu of anything else.
At uni (many eons ago) I used to watch 'Home and Away' and 'Neighbours' every single day - sad. There is nothing more entertaining than shouting collective abuse at the telly.
Watch Stargate every now and then...and this 'new' Atlantis thing.
Could go on but then, I don't want to be too 'special'.

I tend to watch a few when they're on
- days of our life (which I hate)
- big brother
- dr phil
- top model 2006
- reba (which is the crappiest sitcom ever made)
- joey (which is a good follow-up to reba regards to crappiness)
- george lopez show (maybe even crappier than reba)
hm an australian soap on tv now... I actual think australian soaps is the worst. beat american and even british ones, though norwegians are usually okay. that's because there is so few of them I guess
anyway
- operah
- according to jim
- full house
- step by step
- sister sister
- ricky lake (before when it was on)
- ... :laugh4:

You´re not alone there.
Though I watched them mainly because I found them funny, since I know most episodes, I don´t watch them anymore.

Don't have cable, don't watch TV, but this void means that when I visit someone who has the tube going I am much more likely to be attentive to that than the people I am visitng. Strangely enough, I want to know who wins survivor, or if the pro wrestler ever avenges his honor, but I never find out.
and when I visit my parents for the holidays I watch tv if I cant sleep. Two years ago I watched an MTV marathon of Nick and Jessica, Newlyweds, late at night because I couldn't sleep. I will be forever tainted.

We got rid of our Sky subscription a few months back = save 20 quid per month, and don't waste time watching trash (altough I do miss the History Channel).
I will confess to watching Dancing on Ice when it was on ITV a few months back. One of the skaters was *really* hot. Mrs Suribachi knew this was why I watched it but she didn't seem to mind. She knew how hot this chick was ~:)

I confess that I like a girl who probably doesn't care.
Anyhow, if anyone's heard of Doraemon, I watched one episode sometime a month or two ago. :embarassed:
I also watched Arsenal lose
I also confess that I don't watch TV or listen to music.
