Sorry, its basically a "pope found to be catholic" story, but I felt the need to draw your attention to
The report is the most extensive ever survey of the armed forces' barrack-room culture, and follows a string of sexual harassment claims against the services.
Armed force. Barrack room culture. Whoda thunk it?
I sure hope they deal with the culture of violence in the armed forces next.

While I obviously don't like hearing about this I don't want the Forces turning into the Police, strung up by oversight and unable to do their job.
"Violence" in the Forces is often no worse than in the past and generally is not serious, making cadets eat grass when they screw up isn't that bad, nor is making them carry a shell case all day.
The Armed Forces do a uniquie job and need unique consideration.
When you have thousands of men isolated from women for their entire tour, tensions are sure to build.

And when you consider that, nowadays, it seems that a man looking at a woman can be construed as 'harassment'...

That's a good point. The list of things we can do without being insulting is becoming shorter by the day.:book:
