Here's (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/5006866.stm) a nice summation of the Home Office's problems. I believe the source of the problems is total incompetence.

Oh, and here's today's problem:

The Home Office is looking into reports that hundreds of foreign offenders have been freed from secure hospitals with no consideration given to deportation.

The Sun says police are seeking up to 500 former mental patients, including murderers, rapists and paedophiles.

It's a conspiracy, so then they (this bloody government) can say, 'see, we told you so, you must have ID cards to stop this'.

Never mind the incompetence and ineptitude that this administration has shown since '97. A shambles from start to finish. The best thing is how that lying liar Blair said it was all the last Conservative governments fault. Hang on matey, hav'n't you lot been in for nearly a decade?

At long last Blairs administration has been revealed for what it always was. A pigs ear.

gah, the home office has been a complete mess for ages through both governments, and neither did anything to sort it out, and so we can hardly blame only the labour goverment for that, however ai do think tis time for a change, as this govement seems to have completely lost it :(

Sorry, I have to disagree. I'm sure that the last Tory government didn't have a clue, I mean John Major, ohh pleeease, what an idiot. However that doesn't alter anything. The 'Blair Party' has been in office for almost a decade and it wasn't until the mess became public that they started making noises (Blairs good at noise) about sorting out this mess. No, instead they pass umpteen laws, most of them completely unnecessary to give the illusion of 'doing something'.

Was it President Truman that had a placard on his desk quoting 'the buck stops here'? Tony might like to reflect in his (soon; yes please :jumping: ) enforced retirement that perhaps he should take responsibility for his mal-administration, instead of blaming anyone in range. The mans a shyster.

Shyster, now that's a word I've not heard in a while...

But yes, it has been so long now that the Government cannot blame the Tories for everything (although the SNP and SSP so...). Of course, the Rt Hon. Tony Blair likes to the Major Government to his own, highlighting how much more he spends than the former Government... not that it pays off, just that he spends more...

No my Scots friend. We pay more. Although I'm sure JAG will keep alive the delusion that the treasury is the governments money.
