View Full Version : There are far too many forums/sub forums.

Come on! There's like 3 forums for each game, and then each one of those has 2-3 sub forums! Why do we need them! Why do we need an OT frontroom and backroom? Why do we need 3 RTW Multiplayer sub forums? It would be so much similar to navigate the ORG if we cut down on them!

Each subforum has it's purpose. Take the frontroom and backroom for example - light-hearted banter can take place in the frontroom, while heated debate and glass throwing and name calling can take place in backroom. It nicely divides the two subjects.

I don't see the problem. It was a bit strange at first but I got used to so many forums.
You'll get used to it :2thumbsup:

More forums = more oppurtunities to raise your post count.
You shall realize this wisdom and come to accept it eventually, grasshopper.

That's weird. I think there are few forums.

I'm sure that there weren't this many when I started...
They just seem to evolve as new people come, new games are released, and one doesn't notice...

Well the boards have worked sublimely this last 6/7 years. I see no need to truncate the boards, each one has a useful function.
I know that you're a new member, so perhaps you should just enjoy the ride, and chill a bit. :2thumbsup:

There are just as many forums as there needs to be - no more, no less.
It is Zen like that. :bounce:

Why?
Obfuscation my dear boy. It's Rule #1 around here.:no::yes::no::yes:

General Game info & discussion
-single Player-specific topics
-multi Player-specific topics
-mods-specific topics
is the general sorting plan; most recent game "on top", with 'new guy' info on top of that.
I would be interested to see your alternative proposal - particularly if it would enhance the navigation/ability to find info for newer visitors.

Or you could just do as i do, and shrink away the forums you don't want.

Yes, I just noticed that we have a lot of forums.
Surprisingly, we use them all! Welcome to the .org, the increasingly multi-purpose forum for people who despise Real Life! :2thumbsup:

I don't despise real life....
yeah as currywurry said, shrink the sections you don't visit. when you're just a new member and not used to forums this is overwhelming.. but you'll see that all of these forums are really needed. if we'd cut down on them, it'd be a lot harder to avoid reading stuff you're not intrested and it would be much more chaotic.
though sadly shogun forums are rarely used these days.. still check them about every day though

So, no proposal for change. Looks like the issue here is wrapped up. Therefore: Thanks for all contributions
