I was thinking they will be in M2TW vanilla, what makes you think a mod is required to get them?:inquisitive:

If the Byzantines are playable I hope to change the fate of Constantinople.

The janniseries should have some realism (other than they kick every other units ass).

You should have to pre-order them. They were takin at the age of 7 (im not sure what age) from christrian familys in the ottoman empire. Therefore you should have to have a christrain population somewhere. And since most parents would hate to have their offspring taken away to face a life of the wrong faith and killing people, the province would also suffer a happiness bonus. They shoudl also be unquestionably loyal to the sultan, without him they are nothing but regular soldiers (the jannisarys had a interest in politics...which corrupted them later on). And barely ever rout.

This...or they could be trained in one year and just be a super unit.

In MTW they were so high up on the tech tree you could barely see them from ground level, I don't think it's fair if they then also need to be ordered ten years in advance...

Yes, they did, but for some reason the model wasn't included into the new site. Edyzmedieval posted a screenshot here (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showpost.php?p=1121417&postcount=10).

I suppose you could have a build time of 5 turns for them, but this seems to be a bit over the top.

i dont think that is necesary...i kicked ass with my janissaries in MTW. the almohads thought they were such a threat that they positioned atleast 6000 men along the janissary guarded borders

I don't think any unit 'll top a recruiting time of 3 turns. Which means Janissaries 'll be 2 turns or like a generals unit 4. Judging from how the recruiting system has been in Rome and BI.

a general unit took 4, atleast the Immortals did

On E3 video, there was (Heavy) Janissary infantry who charge on English citadel. And on many screenshots they were. Turks will faction, so situation is clear.
