Ok.Here is a little poll to see the current layout of Backroom political balance at the moment. Are you lefty, righty or Moderate in your own opinion. This is a very rugged poll and i understand that most are something from between. But if you had to be labeled what of these options would you put yourself?

Hmm, interesting.
Gives us a good idea of the enemy's numbers in this ever-continuing war. :2thumbsup:
Social Issues (mostly) Left
Economic Issues (mostly) Right
I tend to change a bit, but for now here I am.

I would say I'm centre-left. I wasn't sure whether to go for 'lefty' or 'moderate', but I suppose I'm closer to moderate.

I'm fairly left on everything except the military (but my definition of left may be a bit skewed by how far left the people around me are).
I'm probably on the left side of moderate, or the moderate side of left.

I voted lefty as I'm extremely permissive on social issues, and a supporter of a limited welfare state, but I'm not in favour of massive wealth re-distribution or anything like that.

In true "eclectic" style, as GeneralHankerchief has described me, I tend to ride the fence on many issues, so moderate am I. The glass is neither half full nor half empty, but just about where it needs to be.

Conservative righty for the most part but fairly moderate on some social issues. But I typically vote for whoever I think will do a better job or who I think will screw things up less. ~D
Very Conservative and Right on foreign issues. , Moderate to Hard Conservative on any thing to do with the Federal Government. Local governments have the primarily role of taking care of the peoples, health and welfare in my opinion so I tend to support more of the left leaning politicians in the local elections

You forgot the GAH! option.
Given the lack of a centre-right option I have to go for moderate (especially when I think of how far right some of those who will vote right-wing are!) Economically centrist, believe in the Welfare State, balanced by anti-Europe & evangalical Christian views

Yeah the classical American vs Europeian politics would mess things up quite badly for example. :laugh4:
I'm taking it that you want to get people's views on themself on thier respective national politics, not on the political spectrum on this forum Kage?
Not that it matter much for a Swedish leftie like me. :laugh4:

Centre-left, closer to the centre then to the left. So I picked moderate.

Since you live in the Isle of Man, does your republicanism embrace removing your Queen? ~;)

I voted righty despite having more or less exactly the same views.
This must tell us something, but what?

I voted right in the last election, so… the party is actually called ”right” as in opposite to "left".

I know you said the poll was simplified, but to have Left which can range from Stalinism to liberals obscures matters. Ditto with the right wing.
I for example am for personal liberties in one's own home pretty much without exception as consenting adults are involved. One could argue that such a statement is Right Wing (the archetypical Redneck defending his Freedoms) or close to bieng a Hippy.
Again there is the distinction between different aspects of society that people may feel should be conducted in different manners.

As the Roman writer Terence put it, "Moderation in all things." If you want to know what I think about extremism and fanaticism, just read my siggy.

I think of myself as a moderate, or perhaps more accurately, either left or right depending on the company. Back home amid a very conservative culture I feel left as can be, but at a much more liberal school I think I represent the right (except when I go to church and find myself back on the left side of the fence).
So either I'm a moderate or I like to play the devil's advocate. Or both.

I'm moderate I guess
