It's very long...and disturbing.

~
It's written by a Kennedy.
It's in Rolling Stone.
The accompanying illustration depicts severed hands with ballots.
Looks like mostly conspiracy crap like usual...

It is disturbing that such drivel could make it to print, even in a magazine like Rolling Stone.

I was hoping you had something specific to refute it with...
Seriously, I've never seen a conspiracy theory that wasn't debunked conclusively. Evidently you have access to this and I'd actually like to see it.

Should we debate every point?
On the grand scale, I suspect the misdeeds of both parties ultimately weigh each other out; the perceived inconsistencies in Ohio can probably be matched with opposite but comparable figures in other states.
Also, the article relies heavily on exit polling accuracy, which I don't put too much faith in - certainly less reliable than official ballot tallies, I think.

I more interested in whether fraud occurred and how much, regardless of who is doing it and whether it effected the election.
Some links would be fine.
I'm particularly interested in the quotes from various judges:
Six weeks before the vote, Blackwell illegally decreed that poll workers should make on-the-spot judgments as to whether or not a voter lived in the precinct, and provide provisional ballots only to those deemed eligible.(115) When the ruling was challenged in federal court, Judge James Carr could barely contain his anger. The very purpose of the Help America Vote Act, he ruled, was to make provisional ballots available to voters told by precinct workers that they were ineligible: ''By not even mentioning this group -- the primary beneficiaries of HAVA's provisional-voting provisions -- Blackwell apparently seeks to accomplish the same result in Ohio in 2004 that occurred in Florida in 2000.''(116)
115) Directive No. 2004-33 from J. Kenneth Blackwell, Ohio Sec'y of State, to All County Boards of Elections 1 (Sept. 16, 2004.).
116) In the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, Western Division, The Sandusky County Democratic Party v. J. Kenneth Blackwell, Case No. 3:04CV7582, Page 8.

SK Good post, after stealing the 2000 elections those empowered were embrassened enough (and had convinced enough near Red states to buy their friendly user voting machines) to fake the next election. Not that it really mattered since we had one "Skull and Bones" running against another (cute eh?).
After 9/11 a number of TV shows hit the airs attempting to depict the new and improved systems of Bush43 to fight terrorism ... and those that disagree with the new principles of America. Were like three of them as I recall. Caught moments of a couple out of curiosity.
One showed some Special Ops guys trying to rig an election in another nation (not friendly with the USA), that used electronic voting machines the USA had given them. But, at the last minute the man in power opted for paper ballots - so ... we decided to fake the ballots. And, if that failed we needed to assassinate him. Think the show lasted one show.
Another, was totally gung ho on wire tapping all Americans to keep all Americans safe from those that would impend on our rights ... er... except for the right to privacy. Recall one line, "People don't understand what it takes for us to keep them safe ..... yeah we gotta kill the innocents some times, but it's for the common good". OK. bet some buy into that - me, it sorta leaves me thinking about what country i am living in.
A third, which I haven't bothered viewing just began ... think it is called "The Unit" (seen commercials) - know what the message is, so why bother?
Thing is, propaganda is illegal in America. Well, it use to be.
But, stealing elections by denying people their right to vote? Guess that's legal again. Not sure what toilet the amendment protecting everyone (regardless of race, crede, or political affilitiation) got flushed down - probably the same one that regurgitated that torture was OK.
Of course, it just might be incidental that the same people are being selected over and over again by the GOP Prez's, maybe they are the best that the GOP has to offer - or maybe they are the GOP's agenda builders. Maybe. Maybe they know how to balance ..... oh, never mind - we (GOP) only want to talk about balancing a budget when a Democrat is Prez. When a Republ-ICant IS, lets RocknRoll on the poorer folks.
Thing is, stealing elections, assassinations. propaganda, saying one thing and doing another, promising to reduce government bureaucracy (not the time mind you to process a request, but the number of people involved - there by extending the time. Which is irrevelant, since every GOP Prez has always increased the bureaucracy by atleast 10% - except Reagan who did 25%), and of course now to keep us safer. Yuck Yuck.
What was the question? Oh, stealing elections. Why not? A congressman's plane fell out of the sky over Minnesota in 2000 - killing his entire family (and him, of course) - and the conclusion of the FedAv was that water rather than de-icer had erroneously been put on the wings prior to its taking off. Mondale, ran in his place ... was only two weeks prior to NOV3rd ... he lost. Oh, well ... things happen. No one was ever charged for a crime of negligence ... as a matter of fact, no one could even determine who the person responsible for deicing the plane was.
So, stealing elections through machines? Did anyone notice the last test in Ohio? What a fiascal. A real joke.
