problem in mtw

I have been playing medieval total war for some time now and suddenly noticed that all General's command ratings/trait in the vices and virtues screen are 0, with no stars. The only exceptions are if the General is a King or Prince. It is not just my faction but every faction, this problem never used to exist, whats happened and is there any way to change it??

Any help greatly appreciated, cheers :help:

What version are you running ? Have you patched the game, installed any mods etc?

1.1 i believe, i installed the official patch, no other mods or anything though

i also play with 1.1 bu ive never noticed it. maybe try to win 2 serious battles that should upgrade your general if not than you have a bug

yeah when battling the general might go up slightly like 1 star every serious battle but its a pain to build from scratch, there used to be like a starting base say a general would have 2 stars then win a battle and have 3 stars then you've already got a reasonably good commander. must have a bug :( isnt there anything i can do? might try and reinstall but i think i already tried that :S
its a pain when giving titles cuz i like to choose the best generals by command or as well sometimes all the leaders of units in an army have 0 stars for command then you get a really random general like horse archers and stuff...

I don't recall getting many (any?) generals starting off with command stars - apart from the historical ones and the Princes. But they should have varying stats for loyalty, dread and acumen. If they don't, you might consider reinstalling or something.

If ruler have high influence (at least 7), new units will have at least one star.

P.S.
Units have to have preffere for general (almost every cavalry have this).

alright cheers for everyones help might try reinstalling otherwise grin and bear it, ill just train my generals up with experience its just that they always used to start with something for command.
