View Full Version : Three unrelated problems
I guess most of this had already been fixed, but I just post it here to make sure.
1) Another skin problem: Aedui Bagaudas and Kluddobro share the same skin.

2) Strange animations: it seems that the unit skeletons do not take into acount where the soldiers will stick their weapons.

This is just one example. Another one would be the Aedui lesser general getting his sword stuck in his shield, or the Thureophoroi/Thorikitai having their spear in their shoulder. Is there still any work being done on the animations?
3) Typo in the Baktrion Agema loading screen: the quotation marks have been replaced by question marks. I think I saw this with another loading screen featuring a unit as well.

I just played a custom battle of Kart-Hadast vs the Ptolemaic Empire on the Abul Simbel map. I experienced some very odd occurances. The Sacred Band, both mounted and on foot, had graphical glitches with their shields. They appeared correctly from close-up, but from a little further away the graphics changed. It is best visible in this screenshot: the soldiers close to the camera have their correct shield, but those further away show a different one.

Also, Sacred Band cavalries' shield motive shows on their cloaks if the camera moves a little further away.

Another strange occurance was the ability of my troops to hide on top of the hill I started out on, despite there being nothing there to hide in. Even my cavalry could hide. This screenshots show my Carthagian militia cavalry, that are hidden according to the unit bar. Perhaps there is something wrong with the terrain?

Lastly, Iberian heavy cavalry still used the old animations, i.e. they held their lance striaght up instead of putting them on their shoulder. I don't know if this is a problem, since it is a placeholder unit, but I thought you had replaced all animations.

This is a sprite problem. They have been redone, but not yet loaded into the v.80 test build, so I can't say we've solved this.

It's not the terrain. There are some *inexplicable* special unit commands provided to a number of the units in EDU. The Iberians seem to be the worst offenders.

There are all-new animations for v1.5 (alin actually provided most of them in his add-on pack). Can't say for sure these particular ones have been fixed.

It's natural. If you are on top of a hill, and the enemy is at the bottom - you can see them much better than they can see you. It's actually a pretty nice touch I think that CA got right.

I don't know if this is a problem, since it is a placeholder unit, but I thought you had replaced all animations.Iberian Heavy Cavalry is not a xyston/kontos unit. They used shorter lances, therefore they will only use one-handed grip. So, they will have no need of putting them into the shoulder unless Alin's reworked vanilla animation includes that rest position.

Aparent, the fix didn't work as the shield still appear incorrectly:
