The Finals for the NHL begin very soon, and I've got the obligatory poll. The Carolina Hurricanes or the Edmonton Oilers?
Goaltender Dwayne Roloson has been the difference maker for Edmonton, but I hear that Carolina can physically compete with Edmonton, which might make Roloson's job harder. Can Carolina take on a well-rested team after a 7-game series?

What is it with these mewling infant teams that are energized with a surge of confidence to go all the way due to the fact that the Red Wings play badly in the early rounds?
Anyway, like Calgary and Anaheim before them, I expect Edmonton's luck to turn dry at the behest of Carolina...

I think Carolina had the tougher run, but that could both help them or hurt them.
Eventually the Oilers won't be able to keep up with Carolina, and being well-rested will become moot.
Hurricanes in 6.

5-4 Carolina
ESPN now says that Roloson is injured and cannot play for the remainder of the playoffs.

my hearth say Edmonton, but my head say Carolina in 5. Especially if Roloson is injured.

I could really care less except for the fact that the Oilers got real lucky and beat my Red Wings. In which case, I'd like to say:
GO CAROLINA!:2thumbsup:
With Roloson hurt, got to say Carolina wins it easily. Which is a shame, this was looking to be one hell of a series. Here's hoping Conklin or Markkanen can get focused and make it entertaining.
I suppose Im supposed to care because I live in Michigan and all, but I really could care less about hockey. GAH

I don't think we should talk anymore...
I'm glad hockey has left my city for now. When the Sens were still in the playoffs, everywhere I turned, there was hockey and hockey enthusiasm. Everyone with a beard was only growing it for the playoffs. Preposterous!
I don't actually care at all about hockey, but I'll say Edmonton just to keep it on the right side of the border.
