No, it probably wouldn't have changed the course of the war, because the engines were unreliable, but it was a very pretty and fairly dangerous aircraft nonetheless; it would have been totally terrifying in 1942...

We prefer no pics of vids of wartime usage, but civilian use of airplanes is very welcome here.

I´m just watching the second video, they say it was rebuilt by Americans after WW2 using original parts, only the engines are new and have a bigger fan in the front, making them more quiet, besides it reduces fuel consumption at start and landing.

And then there is the newest MiG-29 with thrust vectoring, pity the video contains no details about that.

Cool plane though, it's always one of my favorites to fly in flight sims. I prefer dogfights that consist of me seeing already engaged aircraft, zooming in behind a fighter with a lead on one of my buddies then opening up at close range with my quad 30s.

I think the most interesting thing that was a show of the future with the 262 was the use of unguided air to air rockets. Though these rockets were already in use on Me 110s the 262 was fast enough that it didn't need an escort and was able to fly within rocket range, fire a salvo of rockets (a whole flight of 262s would be best) then zip in at high speed and take advantage of the broken formation of bombers to just shoot them up on that run.

Would never have changed the war though, too late to affect the air war and in far too few numbers. If it had come out in 42 and Hitler hadn't interfered with his desire to have a fighter bomber then perhaps it could have slowed the bomber advance enough so that german industry could continue pumping out those tanks and more airplanes.
