:help:

I hope you don't mind my first post being a request for help, but that's what brought me to this forum in the first place. I've full installed Shgun: Total War, and that went fine (with an error message when the time came to switch disks, but that didn't seemt to cause any problems. I could be mistaken, though) but I can't play the game. When I attempt to open it, the splash screen appears, it seems to be loading, then the splash screen disappears and that's that.

I spent hours reading through the tech support section here, but I didn't find anything applicable. I tried some of the solutions posted there, but to no effect. :wall:

My system specs, if it helps, are:
CPU: AMD Athlon
Video card:ATI Radeon 8500 (might be LE)
Video driver: Basic windows Radeon 8500 version 6.14.10.6462
RAM: 512 MB
DirectX: 9.0c
OS: Win XP SP2

I've tried running it with all antivirus and antispyware programs disabled, but to no effect.

Any help at all would be great. This is really frustrating

Thank you! I do hope they can help me. I was really looking forward to playing this game.

Seems like a nice forum, too. I think I'll be doing some hanging out here in the future ~

Most likely you have to remove starforce: https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=49780

Hi, I'm a new member of the forums. I had the same problem and have just find a "solution" that worked for me. In my case the problem was not in Shogun, but in Starforce.

For those that don't know what Starforce is: it's a copy protection software that is included in some games (more each day it seems). In this thread in the Wargamer's forum you can find a guide to know if you have Starforce installed and a link to an uninstaller: http://www.wargamer.com/forums/tm.asp?m=100639

I used the utility mentioned in that thread to remove Starforce, and after restarting the computer, STW worked fine. So you can try this to see if it's your case too.
