I can now download Alexander because of my membership with totalwar.com. Unfortunatly my brother messed up my computer so I'll have to wait before playing it, so I can't tell you how good it is yet.

Can this be downloaded yet from sega europe? I've seen the download on Sega.com but can't find it on Sega-Europe.com :(

Am downloading now! Costs about €9 (without download insurance). Will have a go at it when I have time. Download is about 475 MB.

Eras may be a better bet for many. The EM after my download said the copy was specific to my computer's set-up. If I changed it or installed on another computer, I would need to renew the licence and could do this for a maximum of 5 times. Now in practice, I guess I'd never want to install Alexander more than 5 times, but in principle, I'd rather have a CD I would always install.

hmm. on saturday, the website came up with a response "cannot sell to your domain" once i clicked on the "buy" button.

anyway, it's monday now, so i should be able to get it from the main website.

I downloaded it yesterday (Sunday) but it was very slow, about 30 kbs. Took well over 4 hours to get the whole thing. At that point, there wasn't a lot of time to play with it other than to try the historic battle and get slaughtered almost immediately 7-8 times. :dizzy2: Anyone had any luck on this? The tactic that worked best was zipping between the slow-moving Sacred Band and the ordinary hoplites, kill the Greek general and then start hitting the hoplites from behind. But then my phalanxes all started to rout and my horsemen immediately followed. I killed 3/4 of the Greeks but that was as good as I could manage, even on Easy.:help:

Took well over 4 hours to get the whole thing.
you call that slow? it would take me 33 hours.
