I have gotten kind of bored with Global Conquest so I started a Glorious Achievement game. I'm playing the Hungarians, Early, MTW:VI 2.xx. The question is:

Do the Hungarians get any more achievements besides Homelands? Other countries have crusading goals, building goals, or conquest goals. I'm in the 1154 year and no other requirements have popped up.

If they don't have anymore goals then the Homelands, anybody got any suggestions for a faction that has more goals then the Hungarians.

All nations, Hungarians as well, get points for keeping homelands and conquering new regions. I don't remember if Hungarians have other goals as well, but you can always check that by clicking on GA button (next to heirs button with crown symbol).

edit:
I'm in the 1154 year and no other requirements have popped up.

Than you have no other goals except homelands and conquering.

Can't the Hungarians launch Crusades? If so they should at least get one of the Crusade Goals

Sadly, Poles, Huns, and Danes can't launch crusades unless you mod the game.

Yeah the Homelands is the only one they got. They also have the one about conquest, an extra point for every provence they capture. I was wondering if more appear later in the game like when it turns into the High Period.

Like the Turks have one for building a Grand Mosque somewhere. I was thinking that the Hungarians might get one like that later in the game. I haven't played many GA games so I figured I'd ask before I spent hours finding out that they don't.

Again no, my last Medieval campaign was with Hungarians/high/GA and I didn't have any goals except homelands and conquering. Hungarians have the probably most borings GA goals-just keep and conquer.

Well if thats the case I could've played a conquest game instead, it practically would have been the same thing.

Any suggestion for a faction with more interesting goals?

Actually GA goals remain pretty constant (or better: boring) for the Hungs in all 3 periods - Hungary, Croatia and Carpathia as homeland provinces and no special goals. What makes them a good choice though is their hefty bonus for conquered territories (2:1 or even 1:1), and given that there is plenty of land to expand into, at least in vanilla, your score should soon surpass most others. Even when the Hungarians are played by the AI and I control another, somewhat distant faction (without the possibility of direct intervention :furious3: ), they regularly turn out to provide the toughest competition for the top spot.

I'd try that, but I didn't want a conquest game. Heck in boredom, I conquered Khazar, Volga-Bulgaria, Ryazan, and the Persava(sp). I was aiming a army at Moscovy when I decided to post. I guess I'll save this campaign for later and play Egypt, Turks or maybe the French.

UPDATE: I started a GA game with the French and they are proving to be a little on the challenging side. I have given the English the boot out of the mainland, weathered a couple of conflicts with the HRE and the Spanish. I finished the Crusade to Antioch and have Citadel building underway with any luck I'll complete the Citadel on time. Next stop Crusade to Palestine!

Thanks for all the help everyone.

Yes, unfortunately there are no interesting GA goals for Hungary - and I don't know whether it is possible to mod something into it. Any ideas? Or point to the right modding forum ?

I am researching this time period to add some heroes and maybe GA goals and units as well. Hungary had quite extensive influence in this time period in Central Europe (actually from Sicily, Naples to Poland and from Austria, Bohemia to the eastern steppes) so there is ample munition to create GA goals.

I don't think GA is moddable except for adjusting the homeland and conquering GA, but I could be mistaken.

The Byzantines don't have any special GA objectives either :embarassed:

No, but they're still a pretty good challenge. ~;)

Kralizec - I am almost positive the GA goals can be modded. I have read threads where our modding heavy hitters talked about adding GA goals for the Papacy(?) and other factions. I think it isn't possible if you alter the regular map. I do not know for certain because I have never attempted it myself.

Bretwalda - I don't have any good ideas myself, I know very little of history of Hungary so anything I had to add would be fictional. The GA goals seemed to be at least partially based in history, like the French objective of the 'Krac de Chevaullies' (sp) by 1205. That Castle does actually exist, or at least it once did. Unfortunately, the modding forum has been quiet so I haven't seen much in the way of development over there.

Although, if the modders have been quiet perhaps they are also bored. Maybe a post looking for a little help over there would be well recieved.
