Greetings.

I don´t know if its has been made before but some days ago I was modding the EXPORT_DESCR_UNIT.TXT of the 074 EB for attempt that each faction could have only some pack of units and no too many of ones when we play custom or multiplayer battles.

I know EB team will do something similar in future but I could not wait more time and finally i decided to do it.

There can be many errors but I think all factions (except yuezhy) are playable with quite appropriate units maintaining its personality characteristic and trying at least a minimal balance among them.

I usually like to play with 30k denari per player/army.

I only have change the prices of the elephants (to the half) and give the command eagle to the arverni arjos, also give at least one missile unit to each faction. I avoid as far as possible use "non finished" units.

To install it you only have to donwnload it and unzip in your EB data folder.
(Remember make a backup of the original file EXPORT_DESCR_UNIT.TXT of EB because you will need it if you are going to play the EB campaign.

Gah. If you're doing something that you know that EB is doing, could you please inform us and our unit people so everyone would avoid redundant work, and you could as well be sure that your modifications are correct, and as intended by EB.

Well I didnt know EB team is doing it, I only knew EB wanted to do it in a future.

Sorry if I have made something "illegal", but I am posted it only in EB forum (and on my multiplayer clan forum) so at least you has been informed already. I am not a modder, only a EB fan and a player of multi (I usually only mod the export descr unit)

I try do the best but is very difficult to know what do you want in a multiplayer patch (total historical accuracy in the units factions distribution, or gameplay factions balance...etc) and with some factions know what unit is the correct is very hard for me. For theese reasons I warned that in the patch could be errors.

Anyway sorry for the possibles inconveniences.

Nah, don't take it personally. The same thing happened with sprites before, and I, for one, would like to see the active fans asking us, before actually doing something that might have been done already, how they could be of assistance to the mod, or if they could help with this particular area in which they're interested in. That's how I got in the first place, and what we need is active people.

And it's not illegal to do this sort of stuff, it is just annoying when the modders could've been working from within the EB but don't.

Just ask, and our faction people

So I am glad if you send me a list with units per factions or similar, instructions to correct the one I have made or to make another new export descr unit file for the 074.

I can do the changes rather quickly because I have a lot of time in next weeks and I know enough good this file.

Hola Ergion!
Nice to see you around. ~:) There's no problem really, it's just that we in EB are chronically short of manpower. A modifed edu for multiplayer games is an old EB project that has never really taken off, because, as I said, we are short of people and, specifically, we seem particularly short of people with substantial multiplayer experience. Therefore, there were always other priorities.

All the Mark is saying is that, if you work with us, that mutiplayer-modified edu you are preparing, could eventually become a sort of *the* "official" EB multiplayer-mod edu. I, for one, know full well you're abundantly experienced in multiplayer battles and would be happy to have you collaborating with us in this specific project. PM me if you are interested (in Spanish... ~;) ).

Saludos!
