I'll take a guess that a fair few of you, or at least enough to warrant posting
this, have played Operation Flashpoint. I haven't played it in a long time, but
had started to enjoy some extensive dabbling with editing before a hard drive
disaster. [My Red Hammer and Resistance CD's have gone missing recently too,
though hopefully won't be for much longer.]

Anyway, I want to get back into playing it, and am interested to know, do any of
you have any suggestions with regard to good mods - singleplayer campaigns,
particularly? The site I used to go to [OFPEC] seems to be in a state of repair,
and my searches have only yielded mods that appear to be in development, or
that have been on ice for several years. Just noticed a mention of FFUR mods
in an older thread here, though must say I'm in the dark about those.

But I think you gotta register.

FDFmod (http://koti.mbnet.fi/~fdfmod/) is quite nice, one of the best there is (certainly not a biased opinion)

Regardless of OFPEC's downtime the forumites there should know a few mods more.

FFUR Mods are basically the original campaigns only with improved graphics, interface, Body movement, Weapon Statistics, and Settings.

So You'll be able to play the original Campaigns in a desert warfare scenario, with weapons modern day US/Russian Troops carry and camoflouge to boot.

All of which can be found Here: http://ffur.net/ofp/

Thanks for the replies. Found my Resistance disc a few hours ago and am looking
to try some mods.

Had been looking at that mod the other night. One thing struck me in particular
though - is it a modern-day modification, or focused more on the Winter and
Continuation Wars? Noticed it looks to have missions related to that. [Which is
excellent, I am interested, but had expected something more modern based on
the information in some sections of the site.]

FFUR also looks very interesting. Some of the effects changes look almost too
good to be true. Which of the modification packs would you say is the better of
those on offer? There look to be several.

I've been eyeing this game for a long time now... Tell me, does Resistance in order for it to work require you to have the original game installed, too?

Nikpalj, yes, Resistance does require the original game, it's an expansion pack.

FDF was designed to cover the history of the Finnish Defense Forces. It has both the modern and WW2-era content. Which is nice :)

The original game is the best IMO, not that I played the other two, but I know that the story in the first made me open my mouth for hours.. (Not the story, just the whole atmosphere and way of going into the game)

The Modern Day Pack is probably the best in regards to the level of fun. I also have the Asian Crisis Pack, which was taken down because the Chinese Government had a major problem with it. Though, I backed it up on DVD, loads of entertainment that one is.

Installed the modern FFUR mod. Seems a pity to me that it can't be installed
with other mods. Experienced one serious crash, but no other game-stopping
problems. Also still trying to figure out some basic editing that I've forgotten,
e.g. loading into extracting helicopters, setting ambushes. [The old tutorials
seem to be no more.]

ummm. Are you sure that the Modern Day Pack won't work with other mods? Because I've made a few Scenarios using the BAS+Tonal Mod Pack with the French Forces Mod on FFUR.

OFPEC (www.ofpec.com) was down for a long while a while ago, but it's now up and they even have restored a bit of the editors depot today, including tutorials.

Not sure, no. Was just aware of numerous warnings not to combine it with
anything.

I noticed those tutorials earlier, and to be honest I can't remember the tutorials
I used when I first started out, but none of the ones I've downloaded from
there have had any of the information I've been after. Will keep at it though.
