I bought the game and could not launch it. ( pc version "Director's cut").

An error message appears when ever I try to launch the game

my pc is 2.4 GH, RAM 512, Video card is Radeon 9200sc, with a dual monitor setup.
The READ ME file mentions a problem similar to mine and the solution is to turn off the dual monitor setup, but I don,t know how to do that.

here is what the read me file mentions: "If you have a dual monitor setup and are not able to run the game, you may need to disable dual monitor functionality or disable the spanned display."

Any help is appreciated.

Unplug the second monitor? Try right clicking on the desktop, going to properties, going to the settings tab, fiddling about with stuff.

The 9200se cards are plagued with issues too, and have the graphical power of a mobile phone.

the read me file that came with the game mentions this:
(If you have a dual monitor setup and are not able to run the game, you may need to disable dual monitor functionality or disable the spanned display)

when I go to the settings there is a little box with the words "spanning the desk top on this monitor" but I can not uncheck it, its grayed out.
as for disabling the dual monitor setup I tried in the settings but could not find anything that would enable me to disable it.

Just go to properties on your desktop, there should be advanced settings somewhere.

I tried the advanced settings but with no luck.

Is unplugging one of them not an option ?

You could try a fresh install of your videocard with reduced functionalily, but I assume you use dual support because you need it for work or whatever. There is a hard and software forum here as well, I am sure the tech-heads can help you out so you don't have to resort to such extreme meassures. Hope you can get it to work, it's an excellent game.
