This is the best laugh I have had in a while.

Maybe some better passwords for the administrators are necessary?
yeah that was pretty funny.

rofl! but what are thay gonna do?
That's what tends to happen when the mods/admins on a bulletin board go and p*** off the wrong people. Seen it before a few times. I've never been to RTR's forums, which forum software were they using, anyone know? Some of it is notoriously insecure.
-Edit: Just checked googles cached pages, Invision Power Board.
-Edit: love the music! :laugh4:

I think it was Invision. Never really liked invision much, prefer VB.
How would they have offended them though?

What is exactly the fun part about hard work going to waste?

This is pretty sad. I hope they have good back-ups, or they're in a world of hurt.

Well if they had any sense they would have backed everything up and there would be no waste of hard work. Besides, when I say I think it's funny, I am of course referring to the "p47rI07IC h4XX0R" style page displayed in its place, not the possibility of their website's destruction, don't get me wrong, that kind of thing annoys me quite a lot.
What I would really like to see is THEIR (the hackers) website getting hacked, but that sure as hell ain't gonna happen.
Yeah I was laughing at the music and the pictures that went by.

You'd be surprised who can become offended by a mods/admins decision. Or the general politics of the website. It happens all the time. Especially with a genre such as total war which often deals, indirectly, with political, religious, historical and nationalistic issues, while also actually attracting people that are interested in those issues.
As to it being funny, well no it's not funny for them. I was laughing at the hackers music and video, not at the expense of the webmasters, I find it all a bit cheesey TBH... no pun intended...
The problem is that this happens all the time, and often you find that sites become very complacent about protecting themselves from this sort of thing. Hopefully they have made a recent backup of their db, if not they're in trouble.
When they do get the site back up, expect the security and paranoia to go completely overkill. That's, unfortunately, the way it goes.

Nothing was lost. The hackers only defaced the main page. We're working on fixing it now.

If they managed to deface the main page think about what they could do if they managed to find out the usernames and passwords. And they CAN. If they have the usernames and passwords I'm *****. Someone could post using my account and get me banned. So it's no excellent news for me.

Yeah, I've been banned on the RTR forums and now I behave like a total ill-manered person, because I got angry because of the ban.
That explains my action, I hope. ~:)

Loving the way half the guys here said it was funny then when BKS tells them of they all pretend to not find it funny.
Now that's more priceless than the hacked forums!

Did you even read any of those posts? And did you even see the page that the hacker left behind?

Well, its not funny at all, because pretty much all of RTR's developments and research could have been hacked and deleted, becuase of a few forum members.:shame:
I understand that these Turks wanted to 'punish' those badmouthing them, but it shows how that the political debate sections of forums, and off topic language forums, can really spark problems like this, and the sad thing is that the victims are usually the ones not responsible for the actions.
The forums are back, and no data was lost in the process.

I know.
But I was extremely angered because I got banned for RTR bashing, while a developer of them INSULTED ME 2 TIMES AND HE DIDN'T GET ANYTHING. NOT EVEN A WARNING!!!! :furious3:
And because of that, I'm totally poised against RTR. :knight:
And if BKS reads this, I don't complain about the warning. I was expecting it.

And my post was not directed at that what so ever but directed at how some people laughed at the thought of it being hacked and not what the hackers did. ~;p
Are you sure you read my post?
~;)
My anti-virus is still detecting Trojans from the site (and can't dinsinfect them :sweatdrop:). Deleting temporary internet files seems to work, but as this happened yesterday too after the problem was supposed to have been fixed, I'm keeping away for a while.
Thank God for Mozilla Firefox :2thumbsup:

Yep, the anti-virus software at my uni went crazy when I tried to open the link so I'd stay away for the time being.
