I don't know if it's unusual/interesting in any way oder if there's already a thread for stuff like this, but I hate the forum search...
I just had a 7-province "Holy Resurrected Empire"-re-emergence in my early hard Irish campaign because 6 of the 7 rebel provs from the current french civil war (france was richest, most troops and best developed until recently) joined it, is it normal that so many rebels join the re-emergence of a faction they didn't belong to for 60 years? (HRE was taken out within 25 years, as always on XL, after every single one of their neighbours declared war on them+they were excommuincated, there had been a re-emergency of them in lorraine in the meantime but it had only lasted for 2-3 turns). What was the most wide-spread re-emergency you have seen so far?

Offhand, I couldn't tell you for sure the largest re-emergence I've come across, but I'm pretty sure your HRE rebirth would top any that I've ever seen regardless! I don't ever recall a faction re-appearing in 7 provinces before; that's gotta be some kind of record King Noob. ~

It's quite an interesting game so far, france was pretty mighty (owned france itself+most of germany, still owns bohemia+venice+perhaps a little more on the balkans) but apparently fighting off 6 enemies at the same time while being excommunicated and not having a single friend was a little too much for their low-influence new king, sweden had owned britanny for some time and around 1165 I (Ireland, had conquered all of Britain before, thanks to france it had been easy ;)) sunk his ships and attacked his north coast (first friesland with my beloved 8star general, unfortunately he reconquered it with 2k men after a year, then flanders+normandy, which was more successful for me because the french chickened out) while at the same time aragon conquered aquitaine and sweden launched a new attack, too, the pope (the first 3-4 popes were very active, about 1 excommunication per decade) excommunicated France, civil war broke out (all the rest of modern-day france the French still controlled, except Champagne, became rebels, apparently southern germany too) and a year later HRE re-emerged with about 2.5 stacks, absorbing all the rebel provinces except one, so now the French is left with saxony, brandenburg and perhaps parts of italy/balkan, i don't think he'll survive for long... perhaps I'll turn it into a story someday, if my glorious achievements become a little more... glorious ;) (and if my old king and his only 1-year younger brother don't bite the dust in the next 5 years, otherwise there won't be an heir because my king only married after ascending to the throne in the age of 39 and his brother who ruled before was a pervert bastard (well, apparently he was born before his father married...) who only had 2 children, both girls)

Holy ****, now that's I call a mass rebellion! ~ Voigtkampf really must've had his hands full dealing with all that. A pity we never found out for sure how it ended up....

Well, if you want to see really big mass-rebellions, check this thread (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=56039).

Back to topic: usually 1-2 rebel provinces (of course it depends on how many rebel provinces are near the re-emergion) join the re-emmergence, but I've seen the cases where 6-7 rebel provinces joined re-emmergence.

I can´t recall re-emergences with more than about three provinces per faction. Once, however, I remember that the demise of Hungary (me playing the HRE) led to the re-emergence of three different factions with two to three provinces each.
That´s what I love about MTW, factions that are destroyed aren´t gone for good but may come back, and huge empires can crumple to dust within short time, often leading to other factions coming back.

When I was playing Byz, I only had to conquer Sardinia and I would win. But the Papacy re-emerged! Not all that big, Naples, Papal States, Rome and Genoa. But they had about 4-5 full stacks in each rebellion!!!
