Sticky this maybe?
I am suprised no one has written how to do this yet so I thought I would.
Usually to take screenshots doing anything in windows you press the printscreen button which is next to F12 on english keyboards not sure about american or anywhere else. Once thats pressed you have to go into paint or another piece of photo editing software like photoshop for instance. Well not now there are programs that take the screenshot and save it in a desired place for you.
Screenshot taking program 1
This program is called fraps and can be downloaded from here: http://www.fraps.com This one has guides on it's website on how to use it and can also record videos. The length of the videos vary if you have a registered version or not. To register it costs money.
Screenshot taking program 2
This one is called "Howie's Quick Screen Capture" and can be found here: http://www.howiesfunware.com/SideBarMiscSoftware.html
This program allows you to define what key you press to register and what file format you want to save them in. The fileformats you can use are: BMP, PNG, TIF, TIF Adobe Compression and 6 different types of JPEG from Qualiy Superb to Bad Quality. There is also many keys to chose from to use for the screenshot button. They are: from F1 to F12, Scroll Lock, Pause, Insert, Home, Delete, End, Shift, Ctrl and Alt. It also has the chance for you to turn on the feature that makes a sound when the screenshot is taken. That sound is the same one as you'd here when taking a pic with a camera.
Screenshot taking program 3
I just found this one by chance uploading images to imageshack. The download link is: http://reg.imageshack.us/content.php?page=quickshot
This one is free just like the two above and has feature that allows you to take screenshots while gaming and it won't close the game down.
Hope it helps people who need to know. Sticky it if you like moderators.
I use Photobucket.com for my shots. You hit the Print Screen button and then go into Paint and hit paste. You then save the file as whatever you want as a JPEG file. Then go to the photobucket site and make a free acount. Select Upload an Image and then hit browse. Go through and find your saved file from where you saved it. Then simply hit submit. It will take a few moments and then a thumbnail of the image will show up. There will be three text sections under the image. URL, TAG, and IMG. If you want the picture to appear just copy the IMG text and paste it in the forum here. If you want a link to the pic just copy the URL text and paste it here. Well i hope that helps. If you need I could take screenshots of how you do it and walk you through step by step.
These are good options but alot of people like me want to have an in-game button that they can press without using a 3d party software. I know this is possible in Rome:Total War but I don`t think the printscreen key works. There is even a folder for storing your tgas but whenever I press the printscreen to take a shot, it never works. No images are saved in the tga folder nor any folder I have looked. I heard someone saying that you have to disable to video options for it to work. Can anyone shed some light on this option? Thanks.
Dont forget Xfire, most gamers, at least ones that play online, will have it running anyway whilst playing game so just hit scroll lock s when you want a screenshot, plus take as many as you like and when you close your game you can chose which ones to actually save.
It saves having yet another background program running whilst palying.

I dont use any 3rd party software.
Just boring on MSPaint that is in the accessories programmes on windows. 'PrtSc' takes picture, alt tab out of RTW and open MSPaint. Paste the image into paint and save as a jpeg file type with a suitable name. Then host on the internet somewhere. I have over 2000 images on imageshack.
I second the request to make this sticky. Edit it, compress it , whatever...but help members contribute images to the forum.
