This is a guide to playing PARTHIA in the Modification Rome: Total Realism. Will some mod move this to the appropriate area which i can't post it?

So Parthia. You have two little starting ciites on the Southeast of the Caspian. To the south is extraordinarily weakly defended Iran. To your east, Bactria. Now you are gonig to go bankrupt extremely quickly. Order some roads or somethings in your cities and move east with some troops. The North is 100% uselss steppe area and is poor.

In open field clashes, bait the Bactrian Pezoi and Agema with the nimble vCyrtian troops all the while annhilialating their men with your powerful Horse Archers. When cities begin to fall in your hands, exterminate. That's the only way to keep treasury up.

Bactria and its cumbersome phalanx isn't a large problem for you. Eventually you should have solid Parthian control of Bactria. Now note what it just to the right of Alexandria. Purushapura and Taxila. In Pakistan you can recuit INCREDIBLY usefull Indian Infantry and Spearmen. Mobilize small forces to begin taking these Indian cities. They will supplement your major cmapaigns nicely.

Seleucia is horrifcally weka in Iran. Small garrisons, no walls on Alexandria, etc. Your first target is a major city, Hekatompylos. Besiege it with a smaller army and starve it out. Meanwhile take your main forces and advance on Alexandria or any field forces in the vicinity. Anhiliate both.

Well you've certainly been devleoping quite the empire now! Leave light garrisons behind, maybe hire Mercenaries, and move on, Seize the chokehold at Pauravas. You'll now have a window to take over rich, rich, Mesopotamia. But wait! You've levt a bit of an underbelly on your empire. Raise some forces from Bactria and Parthia and move on Kapisa. Take Kapisa and leave a few troops and Persian mercs behind to garrison. Take Harmozeia.

Now the Sels still likely have Pasargadae left. Eventually ocne Harmozeia gets Aux. III raise some Indians and Parthians and sile in a small fleet to Pasargadae. Battle for it and exterminate.

You effectively have control of Iran now. Give your cities time to get Provincial Barracks now, Pauravas especially. Raise forces from Alexandria and Pauravas and Blitz Mesopotamia. Take a force and take Susa off Seleucid hands while another one besieges Seleucia. Susa is an important Port and will help you financially.

When the time comes to take Babylon, seize it. You are now effectively in control of the real ancient Parthian Empire. This is as far as this guide will go for the game won't be too complciated from ehre on out. Juts seize Antioch, Damascus, Palymyra, other rich cities and you'll grow tremendously rich.

Good Luck.:2thumbsup:

Unfortunately, we do not have a dedicated R:TR forum on this boards, and the R:TW guides are only for vanilla. I would quite know where your guide should be put.

Still, good job and welcome to the Org (great introduction, BTW) ~ .

I could always make a guide for every single faction so it gets a subnforum :P. But on a serious note my next guide is going to have a couple of pics. At least i hope so. Imageshack can often be a blessing and a curse.

I would like to see more guides for RTR and other popular mods, especially as so many people are moving away from vanilla.

Ive recently started playing RTR as the Romans and i must say, Im impressed by the mod.

Did you play those campaigns using the Metro/Naval mod, Btothexicus Maximus?
