I am sure that there is a thread or a guide that details the benifits/drawbacks of all the possible temples about. Howver I can not seem to find it.

Has anyone collated all this information????

I know, for example, that some of the "Ares" or war god temples give an experience bonus but can turn family members into "unhinged loons" etc."

I am a fan of the Seculoid Empire so if anyone can give details about their temple options I would be thankful....

Cheers in advance

The Guide to Temples (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=37949) thread in the Ludus Magna Forum should have what you're looking for.

The Seleucid Empire has Hephaestus which gives a moderate boost to happiness and upgrades your troops' weapons and armor, Dionysus which gives a big boost to happiness but also gives your governors some very bad traits, and Asklepios which gives moderate boosts to health and happiness.

Also, for the effects of temples on traits, have a look at On the Feeding and Breeding of Governors and Generals (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=45969).

I've been playing a slow game of Scipii. One thing I learned from playing against Scipii in earlier games is the fact that at Messana and Capua, the armor comes out "gold". I noticed the Large Temple to Vulcan at both locations. (I'm sure I would get the same result with the temple of Hephiastos as a Greek faction.)

What I have been doing since, is when I take a city, I knock down their temple, and build a shrine to Vulcan, and keep upgrading it.

With 56 years left, and needing 5 more territories, I have temples to Vulcan all over the place now, and if I can get a foundry, then I can get "gold" armor anywhere! When "whoever" attacks me, for the most part, I automatically have better armor and weapons. Spread over the empire, that's a huge advantage. The Egyptians are attacking me every turn in Sardis, Sinope, and Tarsus, mostly with "copper" armor, and my superior troops with superior weapons and armor cut them up.

Earlier, I was concerned about the temple of vulcan, as I associated that with riots, but I seem to be having fewer riots.

I just wish that I could do that with say, a "Pharaoh's Palace", or a Carthaginian Epic Stone Wall. I cannot upgrade over them to match my own faction, nor can I destroy them, and build my own Imperial Palace.
