I'm runing a RTR Platinum 1.5 game as the Romans on VH/M. Iberia and Carthage are currently at war with me, but neither of them shares a land border with me and neither are at war with anyone else. I have no plans nor desire to attack them and they are totally stagnant since their war with me makes the AI think it can expand. In reality, it can't since it can't get to me. Their armies just sit still each turn doing nothing and this has been going on for decades. No matter what I do, they won't accept a ceasefire and because of this they are suffereing. I figure if I can make a ceasefire with them, they will then declare war on their immediate neighbors and begin some proper expansion.

I've tried using force_diplomacy, diplomatic_stance, changing the campaign difficulty of the save game, and changing the core attitudes. Nothing is working. I've been reading that force_diplomacy works if done properly, but none of the scripting threads I have read has really explained how to get this to work. I've tried making a script, but it's not working. Help would be greatly appreciated.

well i'm not really any good at scripting, but if you want them to attack you via the sea route sometimes opening descr_sm_factions and then changing 'preferes_naval_invasion no' to 'yes' sometimes makes the AI use their ships to transport armies more and you could have a better war on your hands... i've done this to the scipii and they actually expand beyond sicily which is good
but if you just wanted a ceasefire via script i am not really good at scripting so wait til some scripter comes on to explain it cos i just can't :2thumbsup:
