Could someone please try to explain how is that possible for named character to have his double.I have been beta testing the latest version of our mod (my signature) and have noticed some very odd situations. That was happening when some Roman characters were bribed by barbarians but I have also noticed same for AI factions too

there is more to it as I have also come across situations like that:

That ghost texture problem has now been solved but certain characters upon adoption into family, get their "doubles" (as on caps).I have removed all traits etc but that seem to still hapenning

Did you mod or move the portraits in any way?

not at all -only new units have been added to UI

Are these named characters identical when your view their details or are they different but using the same portrait?

Are the captain cards part of the mod or are those errors you are pointing out? Can you name the file you changed that started causing this problem and post an excerpt or the whole thing as an attachment?

Are these named characters identical when your view their details or are they different but using the same portrait?they are identical when details are viewed, ex 2nd charac has no gen stars but on click will be exactly same as 1st charac

we have changed the portrait of the wife and advisor for romans, we didnt touch

Are the captain cards part of the mod or are those errors you are pointing out? those captain cards are part of the error

Can you name the file you changed that started causing this problem and post an excerpt or the whole thing as an attachment?reports of the problem came up after adding new units, we are currently backtracking to see if the problem occured/ was occuring before that

I have not seen this problem before and it intrigues me. Yes, I fear you must backtrack.

Believe me that was only a part of the problem. At one point we had Visigoths family members fighting against their own factions as WRR (screenshots are available to see) and bribed Roman character joined my faction without disbanding his troops

Problem is solved now.It turns out it is a must for Roman named characters to be added to the family tree

Hmm..I've seen roman named characters not part of the family tree before and the only issue has been a campaign fail for the faction if you didn't assign an heir before the leader died.

Oh well. Glad it's sorted, though I'd still like to understand how the captain protraits (banners) show up!

It looks like this particular problem is not exclusively related to Roman factions
