HI! HI! HI ALL!

Wow! I've been playing RTW for a while now and recently got the BI expansion as well as the Alexander just a while ago. THEN I start looking at mods, which I had never done before. I love accuracy and realism so I tried the Total Realism mod as well as the SPQR mod, and then FINALLY I found this mod EB, and I am hooked beyond belief! THANKYOU ALL SO MUCH!

There is some element in the gameplay that sustains my attnetion to every aspect of this mod and I cannot explain what it is. It just feels so REAL playing RTW now. Why wasn't EB the *real* RTW that came out commercially? Man this is the way RTW was meant to be.

And I look at these previews and I am overwhelmed! To the good guys doing all this I say THANK YOU! And ROME says THANKYOU!

Simply amazing guys, this is my first post ever here and I fel like a giddy kid with a brand new game. And heck I'm 36 years old! LOL!

Good job can't wait for more. I'd pay $50 for this mod if it was in the store.

Imagine if you will, the EB team had the ability to make their own engine and make their vision a reality in all aspects of the game. Now that there gentlemen, would be the best game ever.

well it would be Great if CA relase the Source Code of RTW (i think the time is mature for such a think since this game is old and i think CA have sucked all the money thay can suck from this game)

now just imagine they say: ok well, we have sucked every drop of milk from the RTW customers, now we concentrate on M2TW (they will suck a lot of milk from), and we decide to relase the Source Code of RTW for people like EB that are "really" interested in developing the RTW timeframe at is best, a sort of Open-Playable-Encyclopedia of the ancient world.

Well, imagine what it could be, coders that make their modifiy to the source to obtain better AI, i think that in one year we could see also Naval Battle (im sure some crazy genious coder that never come out from his room, and im sure there are a lot out there, will do it in less than a couple of months)

EB is the reason why I went out and bought a 2nd Rome Total War at Walmart since silly me lost a disc and couldnt re-install it on my computer after deleting the game because I got bored with it.

So in a way, EB has increased Segas profits

I bought BI for RTR 7.0(and for other 1.6 mods), so we're on the same boat here. :dizzy2:

well, i reflected a bit, and i must say, that they can never relase a Source-Code for RTW until M2TW come out, this is due in my opinion to the fact that a lot of coders could begin to modify the original source, and in a couple of month there will be a mod/open source based on RTW engine that is better than M2TW... as i sayd there could be even some genius that could add naval battles, different heads for warriors etc..., so i think they dont want this to happen...

just imagine...

an open-source RTW engine... every skilled people to add their contribute...

They wont release the code in near feature (i dare say that they will never release it).
All competition is light years behind CA and releasing RTW code would be just like giving enormous gift to them. MTW2 although its changed but its still based on the same ideas and solutions that RTW is based on. MTW2 engine is not completely new like RTW vs MTW. Its just refreshed and beefed up RTW.
Releasing RTW source code would be really stupid.
And illusion that releasing RTW code would let us make quickly game of our dreams is also false.
I think that in whole TW community there is a handful of people that could do something with this code.
Coding game is enormous task. And adding new feature like see battles is in difficulty comparable with creating almost totaly new game from the scratch.
And this takes proffesional teams working around the clock months.
So please take it easy.

and who's speaking of games? i dont play so much games... just some '80 coin-up on Mame (Pac-Man, Gyruss...) and RTW naturally

I was just speaking of an "Open Source Playable Encyclopedia" of the ancient world, named for example EB Evolution, a sort of Linux of RTW eheh

anyway i dont think dreaming is not allowed, and im not bashing CA
and i say if some not related money form of idealism still exist, CA should become a non profit company... his member could maintain their lives just doing some other job (pizzamen, pony-express, taxy-drivers, clochards etc...) and dedicate their lives on a project like this...

Hey you know the head of the myrmillon (RTW clan) got alexander free why doesnt mods like EB and RTR get stuff like that. Ive played BI its crap absolute crap but i bought it for RTR 7.0 so how come u hard working guys dont get bonuses like you should
