Cant play MTW online

I have the exact same problem - MTW doesnt accept my CD Key.
I have the original of course and also VI. Not the gold version or anything like that, just the plain old first edition. My game is in german and i use the XL MOD.

Maybe i used my CD Key already - cant remember, i have the game since ages. But the error message says wrong CD key.


Any idea whats wrong??

anyway - forgot to say that my CD Key is from MTW not from VI. Lost the VI manual - so i dont know if VI had a own/new key. But VI cant be played without MTW, so it shouldnt matter at all?!??

Hello,

I'm sorry but VI has its own key. The old MTW key becomes obsolete when instaling VI. If you've VI installed you need the VI key.

You can go online with a vanilla MTW installation and key, though.

ummm thanks for your quick answer, but this is really disappointing! I guess no one plays MTW vanilla anymore.

Maybe i find the VI manual somewhere but i dont have much hope...next time they should put the damn key on the CD :furious3:

Are you sure about that? I checked my RTW and there is no new key on the BI manual. I wont play RTW online unless the battles are like MTW or STW.

VI has its own key yes. BI on the other hand doesnt come with a new key.
