Two games that will be coming with Half Life 2: Episode 2 are Team Fortress 2 and Portal. I can't decide which one will be better, they both look great!

For all of those who play Gmod (Garry's Mod) there is currently a SWEP in development that hopes to recreate the portal gun.

Due to the limitations of Gmod9's LUA coding, the portals will be only one way. This problem should be solved in Gmod 10 though.
That Portal video was hilarious.:laugh4: :2thumbsup:

Try searching google for Narbacular Drop. That's the game that caused Valve to hire the studio to do portals, and it's the same concept (except uglier). Great stuff; site's down though.

It's quite clever: stick 2 extras on people may want to play alone, regardless of Episode 2, thus making you consider buying the expansion, even if you wouldn't have before. And if you didn't buy Episode 1, you'll more likely to buy that as well so the storyline all makes sense. The gits!
I wonder if TF2 will be available without EP2 at some stage? No doubt it'll cost a bit if it is.
Portal looks quite cool, but also a bit of a frustrating, trial and error brain-exploding type of game.

Team Fortress 2 is a cartoon now? I remember when it began development, it
looked more realistic, even with the older engines.

The original TF2 was in development hell when Valve eventually pulled the plug on it. Personally I believe it was the explosion of Counterstrike's popularity that sealed the original TF2's fate.
Personally I love the 'Invincibles' animated look to the new TF2 and think it fits in perfectly with the look and feel of TF Classic. TFC was seriously removed from reality and possessed a certain humor and energy that would have been lost had Valve gone the more realistic route.
Here's the skinny on the trailer. Turns out with the exception of some screen effects that trailer was ripped directly from in-game footage!

For those curious about how much of this is in game, here are some excerpts of emails from Valve's Robin Walker forwarded to me by Shacker tsteltz.
Actually, everything in that trailer is in-game. There's some extra screenspace effects on it (depth of field & motion blur), but apart from that it's all just recorded in the game. So yep, that's what the models look like, and that's what 2fort looks like now.
Robin.
When asked specifically about which animations are indeed from gameplay, here is Robin's reply. It seems that everything except the Spy animation is indeed actual gameplay footage.
Almost all of the animations are game anims used while playing (scout run, hwguy firing, etc). The exception is the Spy. We don't have a disguise effect we're happy with yet, so we whipped up that animation to give new players an understanding of what the Spy class is about.
We still haven't decided how we'll use screenspace effects. It's more of a design issue than anything else.
Robin.

I hate the new look of TF2. I can only pray that its gameplay is far better than its looks.

Now you're thinking with portals, Zidane.

I think that depends on what one expects from a game, 13 also had comic graphics but was more like a very serious comic.
The graphics don´t show the gameplay.
And that´s a cute picture in your sig, kek.:2thumbsup:

that portal game looks pretty awesome.
I have heard of nerbacular drop, but haven't played it. I'm kinda glad valve picked them up to do the game.

Looks cool.
I just played N. Drop, and it was a short game, though very interesting and with replay possibilities.

I was never a fan of Team Fortress (although I see how the style they've chosen is appropriate) but Portal looks excellent. I had seen Narbacular Drop before, it's a great idea which seems highly suited to Valve's technology. Hope it plays as fun as it looks.

Portal looks like it'd do my head in... Looks fun though!
TF2's Heavy looks kinda like Dwayne Johnson, no?
