JOHN PRESCOTT was in apparent breach of the ministerial code when he accepted hospitality from the owner of the Millennium Dome, the head of the sleaze watchdog said yesterday.
Downing Street has repeatedly refused to say whether the Deputy Prime Minister’s two-night stay with Philip Anschutz broke the rules. Tony Blair recently dodged questions on the subject in a recent interview and blocked Sir John Bourn, his ministerial adviser, from investigating the trip.
Howdy partner... (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,17129-2279449,00.html)
I wouldn't have thought John Prescott needed a cowboy outfit - I thought he was in one - the Labour government..:laugh4:
Seriously though this is a bit like stealing from a shop and then 11 months later being found out and then going back to the shop to pay for said stolen item.
If the people at the top can get away with this sort of thing it leaves a very nasty taste in the mouth. The worse thing is, like the cash for peerages blot, this government drew up and tightened the rules about this abuse of privilege and then circumvented them for personal gain.
However I say this. Leave Prezza and Bliar and all the other corrupt toadys in place and then the UK may well have another two decades of a non-Labour government. Keep it up Tony and cronies, I'm behind you all the way. :2thumbsup:
