I was listening to an interview on the radio with the guy who wrote the article below. Not being a mail reader I checked it out online. What do you think about this affair?

Alarming new questions about the death of Iraq weapons inspector David Kelly have been raised as a major investigation cast doubt on the official verdict that he committed suicide.

The inquiry by campaigning MP Norman Baker will spark renewed speculation about how the Government's leading expert on weapons of mass destruction was found dead in a field in Oxfordshire three years ago.

In particular, the dossier compiled by the Liberal Democrat MP for Lewes shows that the method of suicide said to have been chosen by Dr Kelly, far from being common as was claimed at the time, was in fact unique.

Dr Kelly was the only person in the United Kingdom that year deemed to have died from severing the ulnar artery in his wrist, a particularly difficult and painful process as the artery is deep and Dr Kelly had only a blunt garden knife.

The MP reveals that the Oxfordshire coroner held an 'unusual' meeting with Home Office officials before he determined the cause of Dr Kelly's death.

And he claims that a 'cosy cabal' of Mr Blair's friends, including Peter Mandelson and Lord Falconer, the Lord Chancellor, hand-picked Lord Hutton, a retired Law Lord from Northern Ireland, to lead the official investigation in 2003.

Writing exclusively in The Mail on Sunday, Mr Baker insists it is time to question the findings of the Hutton report. He says: "I challenge the conclusion on the basis that the medical evidence cannot support it, that Dr Kelly's own behaviour and character argues strongly against it and that there were grave shortcomings in the legal and investigative processes set up to consider his death."

Dr Kelly's body was found shortly after he was named as the source for a BBC report which claimed Downing Street 'sexed up' the official dossier on Saddam Hussein's chemical and biological arsenal.

The six-month inquiry that followed concluded that the pressure of being exposed prompted the scientist to take his own life through a combination of an overdose of painkillers and slashing his wrist.

Be nice to know if their actually is a global conspiracy to take over the world. Especially by the British. They'd have us citing Monty Python day in and day out, and we would all have to eat their horrible food.
Better brush up on my vernacular.
ahem...
Cheerio, pip pip, I say, bloody hell, up for a spot of tea?

Old news, personnally I think MI5 could have done it. We know all the Western powers practice assassination. It's just that usually it's not against Westerners. :shame:

Slightly OT, but I've never understood how the Americans are able to insult our food with a straight face. The French, well, OK, it's a fair cop Guv, but the Yanks? Really?

See, that's part of the beauty of America. We get the best of all countries from around the world. Spectacular Thai, Indian, French, Italian, Mexican, etc.

Granted we have our share of crap too. And we even have a bit of "American" fare that isn't half bad as long as you go the right place.

I will give credit to English ale. Nothing like an ice cold Newcastle or a smooth creamy Boddington's.

Ahhh beer. It unites the world.

Ale (not to be confused with beer) must be consumed at room temperature.

Sorry to break it to you, mate, but this isn't some great American rarity. There's hardly a wealthy nation in existance that doesn't have the same.. granted I haven't seen a Mexican restraunt in the UK, but I won't lose sleep over it.

Same here, but about the dutch. What on earth have they got that allows them to criticise the english cuisine?

Same as Justiciar said, that's hardly a US exclusive. Hell, even in the relatively small place I live in we've got Chinese, Italian, Surinaams, Indonesian and French eating establishments, with plenty more just a couple of miles down the road.

Stroopfwaffels and cuminkaas! Mmmmmmmmm! (Not together, though :laugh4: )

But back to the issue: there has always been a bad smell hanging around this one. But whether it was by his own hand or not, it still falls at the feet of the govt, imho.

Oh please. If the British wanted to kill someone they’d show a little more class than some eccentric old man. I’d just put something in his tea. :coffeenews: :skull:

Ale (not to be confused with beer) must be consumed at room temperature.

Whereas standard American beers -- Bud, Coors, Pabst -- should be consumed at icy cold temperatures so as to stun the taste buds and allow for the consumption of alcohol without intervening flavor.

Guinness for strength!

You mean a respected scientist who was at odds with government policy and being interviewed by a governement enquiry, which subsiquently found in favour of Blair and hamstrung the BBC?

Yes. Or perhaps you've never heard of an eccentric scientist. Vain may be a better word. If you can't handle the stress of others criticizing your work you need to retire. Really, what do you expect when you venture into politics?

Indeed. Edwina Curry, the grey assassin. Using salmonella laced Eggs Benedict. Or egg curry, the tests were inconclusive.

“Mexican restaurant”: I’ve got one, “the Chiquito”.

Anyway, it is almost official that Diana died in an accident after a procedure which cost million of Pounds to confirm the findings of the French Police. So the SUN probably need another official enquiry to sell, the English need another conspiracy theory and the government another place to spend money.:dizzy2:
So welcome to the “Murder of the professor”.:laugh4:
