Senior Member
Senior Member is an honorific, used to recognize members' contributions to the overall good of the Org.
Contributions can range from creative endeavours (such as mods, art, guides and stories) to leadership and commitment (organization of community efforts, running events) to being a fine, honourable, upstanding member of the community. It is a way to recognize and say "thank you" to those who make the TW community a better place. Post count doesn't matter much: there are Senior Member's with less than 400 posts, and Members with thousands.
Two or three times a year, the Staff nominates Members who they feel are deserving of the Senior Member title. Only 10-12 Senior Memberships are approved; if more are nominated, that list is whittled down to the required number.
Senior members get a slightly larger PM mailbox, a title under their avatar, free beer at KukriKhan's house (although apparently none have so far shown up!), and the publicly displayed respect of the community.
From what I know, a Senior Member's inbox size is 75.

You probably need that don't you.:laugh4:

Wouldn't mind it sometimes... :juggle2:
It gives me an incentive though. If I contribute enough, I get the bigger inbox.

I get the feeling this is an old-fashioned term of piracy.
Access to the secret Org pr0n stash, so I've heard.
Nobody tell them about the champagne fountain.
D'oh!
Nobody tell them about the champagne fountain.
D'oh!
Well there is also the hidden fora that only we senior members have access to. Its where we get to use vile terms at other members without getting any warning points....
I wonder if revealing that secret will cost me my senior membership.
If you believe any of this, I have some coastal property in Arizona to sell....:laugh4:

:Sigh: Much a lot of misinformation. Outright lies too!
The benefit of being senior member is very, very simple.
You get to play M2TW right now. It's actually complete, and CA are only holding back the release to taunt the plebs; they like hearing the desperation.
Being a mod's better though.
We get to play World History: Total War, the secret ubergame to rule all games. It covers all periods of history for all countries in the world, and predicts the future too. Oh - and it makes tea. Nice tea. Bit of a system hog though.

Don't know if that was meant to be sarcastic x-dANGEr -as I have no idea what that smiley means  - , but try to keep any personal feuds to a particular thread or pm. Again, sarcasm is kind of hard to detect on the net, as you know, so I could be way off the mark in my assumption.
And Spartan: Senior Members aren't able to reply to locked threads.

Of course there are downsides to senior membership as well. As the saying goes, 'With great power comes great responsibility.' The .org has high expectations for its senior members, including keeping confidential information from the uninitiated. I'm afraid some of the less discreet posters in this thread may soon be visited by KukriKhan's top secret .org assassination team, 'The Crazy 89.'
(And some people wonder why we suddenly stop hearing from regularly involved members, or why the modding team hides their faces from public view):skull:

p.s. In the event I am never heard from again, I must have said too much just now. I leave my computer to Ichi, if he can be found, and my beloved copy of M:TW to Martok. All other possessions may be divided evenly amongst the community.

Generally it is given to the people who have clinked the links for viagra.
So you get a supply of blue pills for the all too senior member.
Really.
Honest.
Oh, I have some spring fed Lake Properties in the Alice Springs that are going cheap.

Spoilt for Spoilers.
The Spartan (Returns)
08-03-2006, 15:00
hmm.. how did you do that many spoilers? (yes i read the whole thing)
Papewaio
08-04-2006, 04:00
Just type in lines.
Then put the last spoiler to be revealed around the last line.
Then the second to last spoiler around the last spoiler and the second to last line.
So:
"FIRST SPOIL"Just type in lines.
"SECOND TO LAST SPOIL"Then put the last spoiler around the last line.
"LAST SPOIL"Then the second to last spoiler around the last spoiler and the second to last line. "/LAST SPOIL" "/SECOND TO LAST SPOIL" "/FIRST SPOIL"
Just type in lines.
Then put the last spoiler to be revealed around the last line.
Then the second to last spoiler around the last spoiler and the second to last line.

longest spoil ever.
It's easy to read, to get around clicking all the spoilers, all you have to do is quote the post! :juggle2:
There was a thread about avatars recently. One real benefit for Seniors would be if they could pick any avatar, regardless of postcount, or maybe each get their own customized avatar. But I digress, back to the free pr0n and beer...

There is actually a limit to how many spoilers you can post. I did this a while back, though I certainly can't recall when or which thread...

As the tread title sais.. need more flowers! Tosa thinks that is really important so posts in it a lot..

If anyone wants some Pudding Commandoes as bodyguards, forward a request to the German/Martian division of the Imperialist Club. They're awful cheap right now. You only have to pay for ammunition in addition to a very, very small weekly fee.
We need the money.
Who wants to nominate me as a senior member for all my valuable contribution? *rolleyes*

The benefits of Senior Members: they smell good, their sigs don't look like overblown Christmas trees and they prefer funny banter because they have long said everything they ever wanted to say on this board.
Oh, you mean the benefits of being a Senior Member?
There are none. There are only drawbacks. The decrepitude of old age. The cruelty of youth. Teh viagra jokes!
