After doing test with custom battles with the AI. I reommand everyone make a seperate copy of RTW in your hard drive and install this mod.
Generally Good Balance Between most factions.
For example: Romans have great quality meele infantry but barbarians have decent quality infantry in larger quantity. While rome heavily rely on its better, more versitile heavy infantrys, barbarians rely on an assortment of units types and numbers.
The gap between elites heavy troops and lighter infantry/skirmshers is smaller.
Skirmishers, techincally(javelins throwers, slingers, Javelin cav) are usable and very useful /deadly against heavy infantry. This feature compilements well with the testudo feature.
Cavalry plays a more realistic role, they works more like chariots in RTW.
1. Mainly to attack the morale (Frightens inf)
2. Pretty decent charge damage.
3.Die pretty fast in close combat if not pull out(which is realistic)
4. Direct frontal mass charge is not really effective.
Basically eliminate the effectiveness of cav spam.
Elephant falls in "cavalry" category and are generally less powerful and easier to kill, more effective as formation breakers. But die horribly fast to javelins or while stationary.
Like elephants, CHARIOTS are more of a formation breaker(more vulnerable obviously) but mainly a mobile platform for javelin throwers best for harrassing oponents rear and morale breakers.
Note that javelins are very effective in SPQR.
Combats last longer and less predictable allowing a more chess like feel, somewhat feels like BI mulitplayer but IMO could be better.
A very underated mod which provides good multiplayer features and pretty much challenging Singleplayers AI in large~huge unit mode.
