View Full Version : Some bugs in my KH campaign

Well, I don't want to be accused of spamming so I'll lump it all into this thread:
- Obviously, the reinforcement bug. This makes it impossible for me to take out Macedon at Mytilene
:furious3:
- The Macedonians refuse to be my protectorate. This is a country with one stack and one city with MIC level 4. The Epirotes complied nicely once I asked, and they had 2 of their homelands, two and a half stacks (more than me!) and needed less than a season to walk into my territory by bypassing my forts.
- When the Hayasdan attacked Trapezous, I didn't declare war on them as you'd expect.
- The AI all act as if I have been aggressive to a faction when in diplomacy, I suspect it's because war was declared on Pontus when they attacked Sinope :shame:
- The odds were against me when I was almost outnumbered 5:3 on Krete, and I killed 906 before the timer ran out (leaving around 1500-1600), losing only about 74, but it wasn't a heroic victory.
- The rebels talk like Romans :inquisitive:
- There's a spelling mistake in the Leuce Epos barbarians. I think there's an "s" missing somewhere.

Hope I helped!

EDIT: almost forgot
- The AI seems to direct its anger to me and me only. When I saw that I couldn't handle the population at Nikomedia, I gave it to the Ptolemaics. Now, it's permanently got 0% public order, yet there doesn't seem to be rioting, only a plague. This has been permanently ungarrisoned, yet the Pontics act as if their former land has disappeared and just walk past it eager to take Byzantion.
- Some of my traits pop away sometimes. One general's "motivated wife" dropped to something else which I forgot. (+3 INF to +2 INF anyway).
- The thing that projects your finance at the beginning of the turn is wrong sometimes, and can by off by thousands or exact.
- My Athenian has "extremely unhappy people" trait when he's set taxes to low. My bribed Makedonian, who has a trait that makes him hate ALL Hellenes, somehow has the "happy people" trait when governing Thermon.
- The same Makedonian general sometimes had free stats. (bonus star and influence wreath appeared one day).
- I get "lover of beauty" a lot now, even though I barely manage to scrape 10K at the start of most turns.
- One of my generals killed a few rebels, then after loading to the campaign screen, he gained the trait "superb administrator". Equally mysteriously, it disappeared the next turn.

Also, with all the population loyalty problems, how exactly are the KH supposed to take Asia Minor without doing a bit of enslaving/exterminating? Do all the cities that can build MIC II trigger the "enslaved own people" as well?

Do yourself a favor and turn off the battle timer.

I prefer having it on. I hate it when the AI perches somewhere after they initiate a battle, expecting me to attack. When that happens, I just sit it out.

Oh, and another funny happening:

Got the Ptolemaics to be my protectorate :inquisitive:

They've got around double my overall rating, all I've done is take Nikomedia, which I gave them in the first place, and Salamis, a colony. They're accepting protectorate status in exchange for these 2 territories.

The Ptolemaics have a protectorate as well: the Selucids. It doesn't say I control the Selucids' territories though, just mine, Epirus' and the Ptolemaics'. Also, in spite of their relationship, the Selucids accepted an offer from me to attack their 'rivals', the Ptolemaics.

Some of these issues aren't issues in our current internal build. Some of them still probably are. Culture swap, new diplomacy settings, and other things have fixed a number of them.

Honestly I don't know how much we can do till the new build is either out or very close to being out though, as so much has changed in it. I don't think shutting the bug part of the forum down temporarily is the answer, but we just can't be as responsive to some things since the build has changed so much. Hope this all is resolved before too much longer with a release. But I'm not advising anyone to hold their breath either.

I see.

In case you missed it, a few little trait bugs:

My general who had won the Olympics gained the Olympic victor trait. He didn't lose his Olympic competitor trait, though.

Some of my generals were said in the messages to have gained the attuned governor trait, even though they've had it for quite a bit of time and not moved!

The sated warmonger trait can be had at the same time as the warmonger trait, so that particular general will gain 2 command stars when attacking.

Thanks. Reported the olympics (and other things) thing just now. I love it, but it continues to be buggy.

We can always use help from motivated folks who are interested in the trait system and learning how to make EB even better in the traits department by the way!

If the 1.2 patch worked with the dvd version of RTW, I'd be working on it.

I'll tell you what does work with the dvd version... the 1.5 internal build. If you are willing to put in the time we can always use the help. Contact tk-421 if you are interested.

I could try that, but don't expect very much. I'm pretty much computer illiterate right now, and I don't have that much time, but I do have some.

EDIT:

Took a look at the Olympics trait but I can't figure out what's wrong, since the antitrait which should be there is there. I have noticed that I just get the plain traits though, such as 'Olympiakos', instead of 'Koinon Hellenon Olympiakos'.

By the way, perhaps the Antitrait should be removed? It's quite harsh to have a character win the Olympics and then lose the influence bonus one year later.

A few more errors are: one of the Arveni's faction victory conditions is to destroy the Arveni. I'm not sure if this is a mistake as well: the Casse victory conditions are called the Cassi victory conditions.

The fact that Too Eager Triumphator has the antitrait of Triumphator seems incorrect. If the general has, say, level 2 triumph, is still a prospective Triumphator and returns to Rome, he won't get the trait.

Another few problems: the trait for slothful agent, which I'm guessing is intended for agents, can only be gained by family members.

Played around with the Yuezhi a bit, some bugs that you might like to know about and some which you don't:

- when you put your mouse over a Yuezhi family member on the field, it says 'Sauromatae Family Member'
- there was a CTD when I right clicked on my spy. It was strange because the chance of getting into the settlement was 9%, and a few turns back it was only 75%. The same person was in the city, and he was the only character. Then, I actually managed to get in, which I found surprising. When the settlement window popped up, I right clicked on my spy, since I didn't understand how he didn't gain a level in sneakiness after getting into this fortress. Then I CTD'ed.

Yeah, we will have the sauromatae text thing fixed.

Not sure about why the spy occassionally causes a ctd. It seems pretty rare (only happened once to me, maybe twice if I think back, but that was in earlier builds too).

How is the looking over of the trait files going? Feel like you're getting more used to them?

I'm a bit lost in them.

Anyway, about the spies: don't seem rare at all now. I saved the game, went on to the next turn, and now the disease has been transferred to all other agents in Athens! (that's around 7 or so assorted diplomats, spies and assassins) Got 3 CTDs then I just didn't mess with them again.
