Hi Guys,

I was wondering if you knew of a guide that gives aspiring tournament organisers tips and information.

If you could supply the URL for any applicable information or share your own knowlege, I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

Nah wern't accusing mate, only thing I could think of. I think I posted it during all database error thingies the other day, might have been why I think. Gist of it was publicity is key, all of the advertisment. Also ensure your rules are detailed because ,then if a dispute arised you can jsut point to the rule book instead of making a controvertial call :)

Ok how to run a tornament.

There is a few things you need.

16 players (for a first tornament).
Something like this link (http://www.strategicwarfare.net/Tornament.html).
A forum.
A thread inside your forum that is for screenshots and screenshots ONLY.

To get members what I did was went around as much clan sites as i could be bothered to and advertised. I also PM'd everyone I knew on my xfire with a link to it.

For that you don't need a domain name just a normal freewebs account would be good.

A forum is also easy to get here (http://invisionfree.com/)

Where I have a post like that but people who posted in there they made it confusing. I suggest you have a results decussion thread near by so people can decuss. Anymore questions just ask.

I'd guess it helps if the bosses of tourney are well known and liked and respected.Vandalism for example had the best staff I think.
