Like in the original will the new version include Period specific scenarios (Early Middle, Late) in addition to a Grand Campaign?

No. There is only one grand campaign. Era's will return for multiplayer only, because era's for single player take too much time to balance and it would delay the release of M2TW.

There are historical battles included.

God forbid CA takes some time to balance the game! ~

Fair point, but I'm already desperate for the game to come out, instead of having to wait 3 months.

Well, since they already had the engine-basics in place, they might put some more time into balancing.

Ofcourse, if the new animation system is eating a lot of resources (manhours), I don't think that balance may get a lot of hours.

But, I will give CA the benefit of doubt. :)

CA already said that there is no trade-off between the graphics and the gameplay because different people work on those things. They allocate a certain amount of time for gameplay balancing, and you have already seen what CA can do with that in RTW/BI. There hasn't been any statement from CA that they are allocating more time to gameplay balancing in M2TW, and the game certainly isn't becoming easier to balance.

I really hope you don't need separate installs for different eras. Someone is going to be able to expand the time period or slow things down. I think I just gave myself an idea :idea2: (usually I steal them from others). If there's a way to change the number of turns and/or slow development down maybe you could have different eras. There might be a problem with loading a save from the previous era; that may be the biggest obstacle, I'll have to research it.

Thanks for the info. I hope CA has learned something from RTW/BI and that it will lead to a better AI in M2TW. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
