View Full Version : Blizzard Art Contest
....the maker of the Diablo and Warcraft and Starcraft series is having an art contest which closes on Sept 17th. There are many prizes and the main I believe was worth $10,000 American...many cool prizes. Check the Blizzard website for details and rules...they say they are emphasising low-poly art...they want characters and scenes with low poly counts...topped at 5000 that look awesome....either inspired or based on one of their games.
I thought of the fine artists and modders here......good luck my friends.

I do hope you are entering Dimeolas.
...I will enter...tho have never tried with low-polygon stuff. It will at the least teach me new things. I was thinking of the folks in the STW mods would do well...and those drawings from the ran No Jidai mod...they have a category for 2D art. I would love to see one of these guys pop that grand prize.......

Go go go Dimeolas!
...two cool things...one is that you can submit multiple entries....the other is that hopefully what i learn here can be applied to making lowpoly models for mods here.
Someone please correct my thinking here...but i`m thinking that the mesh must be rather basic so to be lowpoly...and the texture can add some detail. My first test was with basic architectural shapes.......then run it thru UVMapper to get a template...take it into Photoshop for editing.......more complicated structures, just use basics put together.
