So. Who plays a musical instrument here for fun, besides "school band".

I play Guitar. I started about 15 years ago. Anyone else?

I play guitar along with my fellow mindmate musicians in a band called LionHumanGoat. Lovely stuff. I had about 9 years of classical piano training before I started playing guitar, which helped.

And just as an aside, I'd like to express my insane-like anticipation and excitement for the upcoming Tool concert I will be attending. Thank you .

Bass n' cello. I've been playing the bass, upright and electric, for five years and there was a year when I played little. I've just started playing the cello but it's pretty similar. I guess I'm good enough to entertain myself.

Guitar very badly. I was better on piano after ten minutes of messing about on one.

I play bass guitar... badly.
Oh well, just in case I ever join a world renowned band.

I've played the trumpet for about eight years. It's not really an instrument for a pop band, but I've played together with a lot of people.

Tomorrow I'm starting learning drums in fact.. I look forward to that. ~:) :balloon2:

Learned piano for a few years, did grade 3, failed grade 5 then quit. One of the best decisions I've made, I've got to say.

play guitar and some bass. I have drummed a bit too, but that's a long time ago.

Guitar (what self respecting male teen in the US didn't try to learn) I'm okay, I play mostly simple folky stuff. Early Dylan. Always bring it camping for around the fire kind of thing.

And trumpet (in the school band but that's just silly) sometimes when my buddies want to get jazzy I help out.

I was forced to play the piano for about two years before my parents decided that it was all rather expensive to send their son to lessons he doesn't appreciate. I then started to play the guitar (all very much graced with failure) before I quit the whole music business alltogether.

Today I wish I had paid more attention to lessons (or gone to more as opposed to inventing sories of why I was unable to attend). It really is a bonus to be able to play at least one musical instrument if only for self-enjoyment.
