Ok, who are the oldest Orgasms/Orgahs/Organisms or however would you like to call them, around here?

I can think of Nokhor and Gregoshi for the moment.

Andres

28 is pretty old in here, I guess...

Hope I'm not the oldest though...

waiiiit, who you calling old, young'un? i'm a spritely young 32, there are far older geezers here than me. though i do have to take my medication every now and then, and my bones are creakin in the morning.

I am one of the older Orgahs at 46, but not really close to the oldest. Gawain is the oldest (57? 58?) whose name I can recall off the top of my head, but I don't think he is the oldest. A search for one of the many "how old are you?" threads should yield the answer.

The oldest is by far Forward Observer. Look for his profile, I believe he is over 60. Total War used to be a cult series that attracted some hard-core older folks.

The youngest members are the inactive Tenkisoratoti, who was around 12-13 when I last saw him and Hiji was very young when he first joined. A banned person who I will not name was also very, very young.

I'm another one of the 32 year olds and when I joined I was (just) on the young side of the median.

Average age of the Org has dropped in the last few years.

Divinus Arma
08-23-2006, 03:05
There was a "how old are you" poll taken a month or two ago here in the front room. You could probably dig it up. I think the average age here was early twenties, but the curve shows a much larger population of those older than 20 than those younger than 20.

Well in the west I was known as Kárrabell but that is forgotten, in the south Súmfing-dír, and in the north Léverác, to the east I go not, because I can't afford it, but if I did go to the east I would be known as Bházhgakzél. Now moving on to the north west, up that way I would have been known as Góbal de ghúk and in the north by north west...

i had surmised that's what you meant, but i just decided to have a little fun and hijack the thread since it was unintentionally vague. there have been several threads on that topic too if you wanna search. and there are also means of digging out that info by searching the org itself.

Searched for some other members.

Kurando is from April 1999, but he hasn't logged lately. And I love his Avatar.

Gregoshi
08-24-2006, 14:55
Kurando would be one of the Org oldest and he does show up a couple of time a year. I believe he was the second admin person to hold the position of admin for the Org. Tosa and Catiline go back a long time too, as do Puzz3D and barocca. I'm sure there are a few others I'm forgetting at the moment.

I found the Org a month or two after STW was release, August 2000, and the above mentioned were already posting there.

Drisos
08-25-2006, 06:27
Well, Tosa once told me the .org was founded in april 1999 and people were discussing the yet-to-come game. however it seems like the .org had a technical change after at least a few months.. as the first posts made here don't seem to be from april 1999 but made in 2000.

Trajanus, was his new name Nebuchanedzzar or something?

The one and only admin was formerly known as Terazawa Tokugawa, aka Tera.

I do believe that Magyar Khan and his wolfies is from 99-00 as well

Gregoshi
08-25-2006, 14:34
IRONLUNG (Dan) was the founder of the Org and its first admin. You can get a little bit of the early history of the Org here: Early History of the Org (http://www.totalwar.org/site/information.shtml) I thought Kurando pre-dated Tera, but apparently that wasn't the case.

...however it seems like the .org had a technical change after at least a few months.. as the first posts made here don't seem to be from april 1999 but made in 2000.

Yes, there was a major problem with the board in August/September 2000 which caused most of use to have to reregister our accounts. I joined in August 2000 but had to reregister in October 2000. The few accounts with join dates prior to that must have been saved from the old board or reconstructed. If you go to the member list as Mith suggested and sort by join date, you will note and unusually large number of patrons joining on October 28-30 2000.

The Stranger

I am actually a quasi-original. There was another batch that predated me. There was an old version of the Org I used to visit until the Summer of 2000. It went through a metamorphosis and a bunch of us joined on the launching, in October, of the new, more stable, Org.

The earliest join date you will see is April 1999 and some are still active, as posted by Gregoshi. One name not mentioned is Magyar Khan who was also April 1999. Though I bought the game on its release, I did not have internet access until 2002 so I was 2 years playing only SP.

And for those speculating the oldest (age wise) member, move the bar a bit higher because 70+ would be more accurate

i am definitely not the oldest here but:

1. when i was born there were only 48 states in the usa
2. i was in middle school when our family got our 1st color television
3. i learned to do higher level computations on a slide rule.
4. there wasn't such a thing as a hand held calculator until college
5. there wans't such a thing as a pc until i was working
6. i did not own a microwave until i was almost 30
7. i produced technical drawings with ink on linen as computer aided design was in its infancy

so i guess i am older than the trees but not older than rocks:laugh4:
