Is there any News on the pre-battle speeches of MTW 2 yet?
I thought they were a great advantage of RTW over MTW and hope that each faction has it's own unique pre-battle speeches with the correct accent (i.e English with English accent, Scots with Scottish Accent), any news on if there will be the speeches?
I just thought it was funny "The first man to the enemy will be my sister.
I sure hope so. I got nearly endless amusement out of the wild combinations that would come up. "The Moon People may be on their side, but we have very nice hats! Now, to victory!"
Yes they are in.
In one of the videos you can see it(you didn't get to hear it tho)
Trying to find the video now.
Edit: found it

Yup, Capt Fishpants did them for us again, and very amusing they are too... would love to share some but will keep them a surprise for you...
Great. They were rather hilarious, 'specially the ones from generals with madness traits. :laugh4:
Do they tie in at all with what is happening in the campaign? As in you've just had a city get slaughtered, and your army is trying to gain vengeance--does the general mention anything like that?
Thanks pras.

Good news. The R:TW ones were quite well done, and sometimes hilarious. Will all factions get a full complement of speeches this time, or is that just for the western European ones?

Did Capt Fishpants write them or do the voice acting or both?
Whatever the case, they were good fun.

And additional thanks to both you an CaptnFish for continuing to stick your hands in the blender by posting on the forum.
I certainly appreciate it.

Glad you enjoyed them.
I wrote the speech chunks that get stuck together to make the generals' pre-battle speeches about six months ago. There are about 4500 remarks in M2TW, allowing for variants by accent and so forth. I may have put a few jokes in there. Who can say?
But believe me, you didn't want me doing the voice acting work as well. At the time they were recorded I had a cold and sounded like a grumpy Yorkshire Darth Vader. :laugh4:

If Fishpants does the voice acting, then I'm going to take my muscular pills, because my abdomen is going to suffer from all that laughing. :laugh4:

Half of the remarks are Monty Python references aren't they ??:inquisitive:
Admit it.
How many remarks were there in RTW ??

Lets hope they've given the over-excited helium voiced school-boy voice 'talent' of the last game a wide berth. I've never been so embarassed playing a game in front of other people as when the 'Greek' chap proudly shrieked how I'd won a great victory or some other nonsense. Not even being caught playing some Barbie Show Jumping game could cause such embarassment, well unless I was wearing a riding helmet at the same time perhaps.
I'm sure the general speeches will be of a good standard though. I assume several factions will share the same speeches as I can't imagine they'll be 20 or so unique and highly detailed sets of speeches.
