Hello Everyone,
This thread gives the reason on why Ancyra rebels and if successful, it would usually be given to the Gauls.
The people known as Celts settled all over the place including Asia Minor (The area of land where Ancyra is) The Gauls originated from the Celtic Tribes and are the most Celtic in the game so who better to give Ancyra to than the Gauls?

Well, he's pointing out the historical reason for Ancyra having Gaul as its creator faction in RTW and therefore being prone to revolt to it. I've seen plenty of people (mostly at the .com) who aren't history buffs and don't know about the celtic settlement in galatia and therefore think this might be a bug. Nice to see CA implementing a piece of genuine history even if it confuses some of their less hardcore historical gamers.

Here a nice read about Galatia.. : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galatia
That Ancyra goes to Gaul, it is quite correct. Howewer, it is really annoying when you play on larger maps, and cities from as farr as the fringes of India join Armenia only because in some script folder (i think descr_strat), the faction creator for those settlements is Armenia....

As Drusus Magnus rightly pointed out: And?
Gallic peoples were to be found ALL OVER EUROPE at the start of RTW. Balkans, Asia Minor, Italy, Iberia, Britain and parts of Germany. Cisalpine Gaul was probably only given to the Gauls in RTW so that the Julii had something to fight in the early stages of the game. If you were to give all areas of Gallic inhabitants to the Gauls, they would become an unstoppable super-faction which is completely ahistorical seeing as they were mostly squabbling tribes who never agreed with each other. EB has the most accurate depiction of Gauls. That is to say, two seperate factions each controlling relatively small parts of Gaul.
Galatia joining Gaul in a rebellion is a bug, not an intended historical event.
