So what happened to the desktops?

I was just wondering what happened to the desktop competition, I know there was an issue with some people not knowing the competition was over etc. and posting elabourate wallpapers but that doesn't mean we shouldn't have a place to post wallpapers for fun. So if anyone wants to post wallpapers you can do it here. Another reason I started this thread was to get more information on when the winner is going to be announced.
