Family member... or general?

I was just playing my gaul campaign the other day, and I sent a spy to look at the Senate's fullstack. As I was looking at the generals' names, I noticed that 4 of their names were followed by "family member", and 2 of their names were followed by "general." So what I want to know is, is there a difference between the two?:dizzy2:

sometimes you can adopt a general that does a really good job for you...not sure how it decides when to give you the adopt option...but that might explain it.

There isn't, really. These descriptions are just based on the family members current function. If you station several family members in one city, you'll notice that one will be governor, one will be garisson commander, and the rest will be "just" family members. My guess is that both your "generals" have the highest number of command stars in the stack.

Ok. That sounds like a good theory. i would have checked out their command stars, but I proceeded to destroy the army the next turn.
