View Full Version : What's the difference between a Culverin and a Cannon?
Google is only giving me a name difference. I can't get anything other than completely similar definitions.
Why do we have Culverins in game and not Cannons?
Culverin was AFAIK a name used for cannons and sometimes even for early arquebus/musket.

Wikipedia doesnt have much on but heres the link
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Culverin
And if you follow the link to cannons on that page it appears the weight of the shot was used to describe it's name

Scroll down and you'll see that culverins are smaller than cannons http://www.portsdown.demon.co.uk/ord.htm
 Thanks. Technically it's the same thing then, it's just a matter of size.
