The US Open started yesterday, and it is Agassi's final professional tournament. He has already beaten Andrei Pavel (sorry edyz and any other Romanians on this board) and he has to face Marcos Baghdatis next .

Mixed blessings on the British side of things. I am very proud of Murray, beating Federer in straight sets, so he is now seeded 17th. However, things aren't looking great for Tim Henman and Greg Rusedski, who have to play each other in the first round before facing Federer in the second. :dizzy2:

Any other tennis fans on this board?

Hope Agassi does well his last tournament, always liked the guy - played ( or still plays) some great tennis, although his best days are over.

Hoping to see some matches on Dutch television, but sadly I think I'm going to have to miss a lot, which is mainly due to the time differences.

Oh well, who do you guys think winning this ?

Will Federer still be better than the world, or will some other man snatch victory?

Well I know one thing; the final will probably be Federer vs Nadal as it always is these days. Then again, Nadal hasn't really proven himself on hard courts so we will have to see.

The US Open has always been my favourite Grand Slam. And hey, the time differences just mean that most of the matches will be in the evenings. Although they end at 1:00 at night for people in central and western europe.

Well, I don't mind Federer reaching the finals, but I won't be too happy if Nadal does.

He appears way too arrogant on the court for me to like him, but one can't deny he has a considerable amount of talent - however, still quite restricted to the clay (gravel) courts.

As much as I like the US open, I find the French OPen (Roland Garros) to be my favorite grand slam. Probably due to the fact I get to see more of it (live tv broadcasting) and simply because I like the underground better. It's both more fun to watch, and play on.

He is also half Armenian! I really hope he wins just for that.
For those of you who wonder, Yes- an unnamed amount of my time is spent seeking out famous Armenians so I can brag. We are everywhere...:inquisitive:

Strange. I thought it only rained at Wimbledon, then again it rained when I was at the French Open earlier this year.

Actually, David Nalbandian is also of Armenian extraction. But hey, you already knew that, right?
