Loneliness as in having no spouse ?
Starting from that point longing to an absolute loneliness that can be caused by being unable to find anyone around that can understand you.
That's a fear anyhow, the extreme point.

Aside from getting eaten by a shark, there are two things.
1) George W. Bush getting a third term as President :help:
2) The thought of Jodie Foster dying my hair red in a beauty saloon. :sweatdrop:

Is there a particular reason for this poll?
Anyway, uncontrolled behaviour for me (e.g. additction, etc.), or, generally, someone (or something) having power over me.

Nasty, boneless, tentacular things... *shivers*
Maybe because I'm young, but these things scare me more than anything else.

I assume that's why a third term would be so very scary...

#1: Failing myself and my values. Especially at the cost of my loved ones.
#2: Great injury or death to my loved ones.
#3: An event that renders me incapable of functioning normally in society.
#4: Sharks. I @#!%ing hate sharks. They scare the living crap out of me. It took every ounce of my ballsack to get scuba certified and then go diving in Tiger-Shark Infested waters. I still hate surfing on the pacific coast because of great whites, but I do it anyway for love of the waves. God I hate @#$%ing sharks.

Water, lots of it. When I have nightmares it's most of the time about big waves, I have no idea why. That or having to run/fight and lacking my strength.

I think I heard one always lacks speed/strength in dreams, but I don't exactly remember why that was.
Well, what am I afraid of?
A lot of smaller animals like spiders I am somewhat afraid of should they touch me. As already mentioned, the ocean for almost all reasons mentioned before, too many things that can hurt you.:sweatdrop:
Hmm, there are others, but I can successfully override most of them with my optimism.:2thumbsup:

It wasn't the intention of the thread, but a funny thing is no one shares my biggest fear...
No one has mentioned happiness. Sure a lot of you will have thought about it, "I'll probably won't be happy when I don't have a girfriend/legs/sight/etc"
But seriously, suppose you lose a leg, or that you are alone, but perfectly happy, in a state of enlightenment, does it matter ?
I'd rather have 1 leg, 1 eye and no girlfriend the rest of my life and being perfectly happy at the same time, than having to spend a lifetime of depression with a fully functional body and spouse...
So my biggest fear would be to never gain complete happiness.
Anyone care to change their votes or mock me ? Now is your chance..

Stingrays .
Having my parents die while I´m still young...
seeing as I´m turning 25 in 4 months never getting lucky with a girl and dying alone with a bunch of cats is getting up there...
after today I also have to add stingrays to the list...

Not that I dwell on things I am afraid of but I would say having my child or loved one being kidnapped or taken. Something I was helpless to change but would want to more than live.
To get older and live a boring life.
